As someone who is 20 I find the thought of constriction very scary.

The 1'903 Australian Conscription Act still applies for times of crisis.
The amendment to this act after the Vietnam war did not repeal the act.
The modification was the requirement that a vote in both houses of federal parliament without legislation in the affirmative be ratified and proclaimed by the governor general.
So conscription still exists in a limited existential crisis to the nation.
The other pleasing aspect of the 1'903 Act is that it does not discriminate against any of the sexes.
If required women are equally liable and required to defend the nation.
Thus the moral, ethical and legal justification for extending the vote for women is wholly enacted and codefied.
This is a wonderful aspect of Australian democratic tradition.
