Mam i have a similar question with me as you did the 2nd question in this vedio....

Calculate the standard enthalpy of formation of CH3OH. from the following data:
(i) CH3OH(l) + 3/2 O2 (g) → CO2 (g) + 2H2O (l); ΔrH– = – 726 kJmol-1
(ii) C(s) + O2(g) →CO2 (g); ΔcH– = -393 kJmol-1
(iii) H2(g) + 1/2O2(g) →H2O (l); ΔfH– = -286 kJmol-1

in this case also we finally arrive at the equation

C+2H2+1/2O2-->CH3OH

here the enthalpy of oxygen is not given ...why cant we neglect the enthalpy of oxygen ...if we neglect i am arriving with a wrong answer

Mam in the last solved have a doubt. U took c2h6 as -x3 because it was taken from the reactant side, the value of c2h6 will be -x3, also the formula itself has product-reactant, that means, formula itself already has a -ve in doesn't the formula's -ve and -x3 comes out to be +ve??, Like shldn't it be +x3??

I got to understand from scratch level. Like noone in utube is interested in teaching how exactly is the enthalpy of formation represented...but mam you did. Lots of love 💕 take regards!
