A good hardtail is better than a bad full suspension

Just bought a new hardtail (Norco Torrent 7.1) after 15 years riding full suspension. Best thing I've ever done. Loving this bike & for a lot of the reasons mentioned in this video - simpler, more bang for buck, less to go wrong, easier maintenance, cheaper maintenance. Really loving this bike ;-)

11. Ghost shifting.
My old fully sprung bike ghost shifted all the time. So when I was looking to replace it, I was told suspension technology had significantly progressed since the late 90's and ghost shifting wasn't an issue anymore. I demoed 4 different full suspensions. They all ghost shifted on me. Not as bad as the old ride, but they still every one did it--Giant, Cannonade, Specialized, and Santa Cruz. Yes, I know the issue is with me. I make Mac Books crash. I make full suspension bikes ghost shift.

I started with a hard tail n now after 5 years n 4 more bikes I still shred with it n its fully upgraded n my dirt jumper is completely solid..ride hard tails till death!!

I have a hardtail just to use in winter when the roads are too filthy and dangerous for my roadbike. Love it and its great to use on combined roads, I do 50/50 road and offroad. I've been enjoying my Trek X-Caliber alot the last few weeks.

I have a GT too the Aggressor 3.0 from 2001 it was one of the best hard-tails you could buy back then. Has mounts for disc breaks but I don't use them. That bike is so hard-core that I've only put about 600 bucks into since I bought it and it doesn't even look out-dated.

Thank you. I love my hard tails but then I'm old enough to remember the days before there was an option. My 20 year old Specialized still gets me to work and is almost immaculate.

A 29er hardtail was my first and still is my only bike so far. The only thing original on it is the frame. I love it and is extremely fun to ride.
