In part one we talk about planning the build, get stuck into some sanding, fitting and glueing and make a start on the Tracks, which, by the way are brilliant.

Nigel your spot on about putting down your project if not feeling it - never force yourself to work on a model it always results in even more problems sometimes so bad they cannot be rectified. When I was much younger I only built on kit at a time until fully finished and this worked for me then and my out put was definitely much higher then today but I lose interest much faster then before and this is why I now build several projects constantly. I just try to keep it with no more then 5 at any one time. Great advice for all level of modelers never force yourself and only work on what interest you at that exact moment of time.

Great stuff as always, Nige.. the hardest thing with anything creative is knowing when to put
it down and step away. Sometimes you can push things too hard and make mistakes, then
overcompensate. I am currently scratchbuilding a 1/35 scale helicopter, so everything is
comprised of sub - assemblies to make sanding, priming, scribing and detailing more
organized.

Thanks Nigel for another excellent build video, I've learned a lot from watching them,  also looking forward to another video on the Bronco.

I’ve ordered this one and hopefully will get it soon. Thanks for the tip on the track assembly. Good advice on knowing when to set a kit aside when there is a repetitive step that is trying. I always try to build in sub assemblies or move on to a different project if the frustration factor begins to grow. I build primarily plank on frame wooden sailing ships and between fitting the individual planks and pinning them to the frame or doing rigging it can become a bit overwhelming especially if things aren’t going well. So yes walk away and work on something else. Great video as usual and looking forward to part two. Cheers.

Not made many armour kits - Tamiya’s 1/35 Challenger 1 and Abrams tanks which were done out of the box as well as a 1/72 Airfix Chieftain mk1 - also out of the box. But I’m loving the way those tracks go together on this one.

Also tried ordering those sanding blocks this morning - currently out of stock - looks like I’ll have to wait a while to order those.

Long time viewer, short time subscriber and first time commenting. Love your teaching methods. Just a little request. I'm newly returned to the hobby and therefore ignorant of what most kits should cost. When you do a review, would it be possible to include a ball park cost price? Thanks, Nige.

Hi nige, I've loved meng and had the kits from their very first releases and I've recently built their latest merkava mkiv. I was really disappointed as it seems that meng have really let their quality drop. More ejector pin marks, flash and annoying plastic nubs that you get on a few Takom kits. I think I was disappointed as previous meng kits haven't had this so we kind of come to expect. Now I know we are spoilt nowadays as the merkava kit compared to early 80s, 90s kits are outstanding. But I feel meng have let their quality drop a wee bit which is a shame so I'm with you on the annoying bits but that's all I'll moan as you had mentioned it. I don't normally as like you said we are modellers. I love the building slash construction parts better than painting and weathering stages. Anyway, cheers buddy keep up the good work. I'm hoping get back to videos after Christmas as my cancer has settled, touch wood and I've had no more strokes or fits so, double touch wood. My stroke has just affected some of my motor movements and typically my hands which is a pain obviously but I'm slowly getting there. Anyway matey, hope your well and the family, stay safe my friend. Oh if you 3mail me ill send which bits you want from the tamiya Lancaster. My email is on my main description page of my channel. Stay safe buddy
