In this video you'll discover the nootropics benefits of N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC). Including why we use NAC as a nootropic, recommended dosage, side effects and clinical research.

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is the N-acetyl derivative of the naturally occurring amino acid L-cysteine. And works primarily by helping restore the body’s natural antioxidant glutathione.

NAC has been used to treat acetaminophen poisoning for decades. It provides the glutathione your liver needs to fight off the metabolite NAPQI in Tylenol that does severe liver damage.

NAC as a nootropic and a precursor of glutathione, is a potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and free radical scavenger. Your brain is especially vulnerable to inflammation, free radical and oxidative damage. Affecting cognition, long-term potentiation, memory and mood.

NAC modulates glutamate levels and dopamine release in the brain. Excess glutamate in your brain is toxic to brain cells affecting neuron health, cognition, memory and mood.

And NAC protects dopamine receptors. Influencing dopamine levels and function in your brain. Even protecting dopaminergic nerve terminals from chronic methamphetamine use.

Many neurohackers report that supplementing with N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) reduces brain fog, improves memory, attention and concentration, relieves anxiety and depression, reduces irritability and symptoms caused by ADHD meds, reduces OCD behavior, increases energy levels, improves sleep quality, you get fewer colds or flu, your skin looks better, you feel younger, and hangovers are less severe.

I have cptsd with disassociation at times and emotional flashbacks. They've crippled me for 10 years. I'm currently on 100 MG's of Zoloft and after 3 days of taking nac, I'm feeling incredible. No more emotional flashbacks! I feel logical, yet happy. I'm laughing, again. Triggers don't drag me down the rabbit hole to depression and suicidal thoughts, anymore. It seriously feels like a miracle. I'm about 10 days in now. Incredible. My mind is clearer. Sharper. My memory is better. Wow. I'm 58 yrs old and after a childhood of extreme trauma and other big traumas in life, nac has kick started me. I was stuck in the trauma loop. I'm out and learning to live, now. Incredible!

For increasing lung function, detoxification, anxiety attenuation, and to boost my ability to sleep, I am so glad that I found my sweet girl, NAC. This supplement ranks highly amongst my very favorites!

I watched this about a year ago and took no action. Then I watched it again recently. I started using NAC and quite amazingly my ongoing anxiety just started to go away within a days of starting. I started on 600 mg per day and I will gradually increase to 3 times per day. Very, very happy. Thankyou.

1st time user of NAC here. Certainly was a game changer for me too. 53 years old, no other health issues. I would recommend "cycling" this supplement. Just my personal opionion. I fell ill with a cold, tested for the "C bug" was down with severe sneezing and running nose. On the couch for 3 days.
by day 4 and 36 hrs after taking 3 - 600mg NAC I felt 40% better by day 6 I am ready to do a 45 min cardio. Breathing fine. No cough. My lungs are not heavy like I normally get after having a cold. After watching this video I am going to limit drinking my diet drinks. Phew Aspertame is some nasty stuff.

Thanks for the video! I accidently came across nac. My wife had bought it as a liver support supplement. My liver enzymes were a little high at one point, so I took it for that. I suffer with depression and anxiety and noticed it helped tremendously especially with anxiety. Kind of levels me out. Ashwagandha has helped tremendously with anxiety as well. I believe my cortisol levels and glutamate levels were high. I didn't know Nac balances glutamate. They are the only two supplements that have truly helped with mental illness. I take them both everyday now for that reason. The Dr prescribed me modifinil for shift work disorder because I work night shift. I noticed the nac helped the modifinil keep its magic. That would explain that it helps the dopamine receptors. Thanks for the info!

Woah. 😳 I rarely see this much interaction with viewers on a channel. I'm impressed! So awesome that you care enough to even read your comments, let alone answer questions. Well, I'll give it a try then. 😊 I've read of the efficacy of NAC for balancing hormones and I'm very hopeful. I've been trying to get a solution for YEARS. Crossing my fingers that you stick thru this winded "question" and reply.🤞😬🙏😂
After 7 pregnancies and 6 kids.. and a thyroid storm incident.. I've been searching for years to get answers. I've learned so much more just in my time pouring over your information. I have a question I'm almost certain you haven't covered.. or possibly even heard before. That's me, unfortunately lol Anywho.. ONE of my problems is I suffer from paresthesia in my legs intermittently. I've tried all the typical "fixes" to no avail. I've definitely improved it over the course of my research, but still there. I've finally discovered the timing is with my cycle though. I'm surmising that at the times of my cycle where my estrogen is up, it's very bad. Then when I'm in the lower phases of my cycle, it's sometimes gone completely! But there are several peaks each month where it drives me insane. Many of my health issues come and go each month like clockwork. This, among MANY other symptoms, is why I've made the hormone connection. Please tell me NAC may be the answer..or A answer..or that you have an answer for me? 😭🙏 Thank you so much if you've actually read this.. even if you may not have a solution. 💜

I have retnitis pigmentosa and take nac for over two months, I started with less than ten percent and now I have more than 70 percent. I'll warn you that I thought my vision was getting worse for a while at first, but I guess my brain was trying to process the new parts working and it made my eyes super sensitive to light for a few weeks

I was using 600 mg once a day not for any particular ill, but I thought it would be a good general Healthful action. I’ve now decided to take 1000 mg twice a day do you think that would be OK? Aye, YOU! made his decision partly based on your assessment of NAC. I appreciate your videos and always look forward to hearing about new developments and health supplements and such and I also like reviewing the old videos because it kind of refreshes my protocol for me

Great video. Thank you so much for sharing. Would it help with people that have had strokes? And would it make any difference if the stroke was 30 year ago?
