We had really, really high, record breaking heat a few years ago. It was bad. People died. I am terrified that we're going to get more of that this summer. It was multiple days in 110+. When I was a kid, the 90's were hot. Maybe got one or two days above 100 in a summer. Now we get one or two weeks of that.

Not only are things going to be worse, climate change is accelerating. It cannot be overstated how important and critical immediate change is.

I’m May the east coast was smothered in smoke from Canadian wildfires, enough that in our rural PA area we could not see my neighbors home which is about 600’ away…and we had to close all windows and stop the AC use….this for a couple days..

I'm going out on a limb and say it's going to be even hotter with larger hurricanes. Maybe a level 6? Is there a limit to how large and deadlier a hurricane can get? More tornadoes in places that rarely have them? Mom nature is pissed off. 🤯🤔🥺

And yet they still say we can stop it if we just change by X year. I wish they'd just say we've screwed ourselves and it's time to pick up the pieces. Giving humans hope that someone else will save them isn't working. We need to realize that we lost, it's in a large part our own doing, and that if we want to survive the next 100yrs we need to change and prepare for the new normal.

IF we stopped everything today and went 100% green the world would still continue to warm for decades and possibly longer if the runaway effects from our stupidity don't naturally reverse.

How do you sound so optimistic? You seem to have so much energy, this kind of knowledge leaves me tired and apathetic. I don't mean this video specifically, I already knew about most of these records from other sources.

“I accepted to come to this meeting to have a sober and mature conversation. I’m not in any way signing up to any discussion that is alarmist. There is no science out there, or no scenario out there, that says that the phase-out of fossil fuel is what’s going to achieve 1.5C.”
- Sultan Al Jaber, President of COP 28, also CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company

Mukhtar Babayev will be the president for COP 29; he is also a former executive of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijian Republic.

Seems more and more likely, scenario SSP5-8.5 of the IPCC assessment may come to fruition (or at least the higher end of the spectrum). I say enjoy what you can, while you still can; pity the generations to come.

Don't blame man for past 2 years. The tonga volcano forced water vapor high above where it can't circulate out. Since then, weather has been Waco. 536 Ad worst years in human history. Global freeze causing years of disease and famine
