Please note that he's changing a new Mark II radio with v4.0 gimbals. This will not work with the original TX16S, where you need to open the back to do the change. Also, the older gimbals don't have the adjustment holes on the front. Search and look at a couple more videos on switching modes until you find one that matches your radio. For older TX16S's, you can just switch the left and right gimbals around and change the software settings.

Remove the back. Remove the 4 screws holding in each gimbal. Swap. Replace back. Go into Radio Settings. Change modes. Done! Bill Clark on YouTube has a video detailing this. Search for "RadioMaster TX16S Conversion from Mode 2 to Mode 1". This is for the older radios.

Awesome walk through 👍🙂
So you know if the gimbals can be fixated to only go in one direction, e.g. left and right?

I'm having the same issue as the other replies - the screw that's indicated to control the stick tension has no effect at all. It's clearly not the correct screw, and I cannot find any documentation other than this one video on what any of the screws on the back do. RadioMaster please post the correct information here!

The 2 screws accessed from the front of the radio went fine. Screw 1 on the left (elevator) gimbal when loosened did allow some degree of self centering. The 1.5 hex driver worked perfectly to turn the screws. At the back of the radio,
I identified the inner and outer screws and tested 6 Philips head screwdrivers, selecting the one that fitted best. Screws 3 and 4 on the throttle gimbal (right gimbal) were difficult to adjust as the screwdriver often slipped, but eventually I tightened both and I got the right gimbal working properly for throttle, with rachet applied. While adjusting the gimbal I was terrified I was stripping the screw heads, but there does not seem to be too much damage.

However screw 5 on the left (elevator) gimbal needed to be released (turned counterclockwise ) till no tension to allowed self-centering. The tension was released but there was no self centering. I also released the outer screw in case the rachet was on. I kept trying to obtain self centering but gave up when both screws (5 and 6) were released too much and fell out, and are now rattling around in the case.

I will give myself a few days to recover from this experience before I try opening the case and trying to recover function in the left gimbal.

I’ve done this because I fly in mode 3 but I can’t figure out how to get the spring tension/spring self-centering back on the left stick… can you help me please? I’ve loosened the tension and ratchet screws to the point where they fell out and I had to open the radio to get the put back into place…. It’s still a weak stick tension and no spring self-centering.

Thanks. May i suggest you add to this video some diagrams to locate exactly the adjusting screws (not indicated in manual) . I would help. I did the mode change but some doubts were disturbing.
In an other side, thanks to the RM engineers which have done a very nice job, mode change user-friendly without having to open the TX16s !!!

Just a quick follow up. I was unable to get the left gimbal (the elevator movement) to centre correctly, even when I opened the case and tried to solve the issue. I contacted RM support, who referred me to a RM service centre in Sydney. They fixed the problem under warranty, and I am very pleased with the result. It is a great tx. I have heard another flyer in our club has had the same issue. I suggest the video be edited to indicate that in the event you are unable to do the conversion without opening the case, there is a simple procedure to fix the left gimbal by opening the case and following the detailed directions in a second video.

Okay? What is wratchet?
How do I get to mode 3?
Why are these screws no aligned with the qccess holes? Feels like I'm stripping them with every turn; an extremely pleasing feeling when working on a brand new 250$ piece of equipment 👍🤦

After updating EdgeTX firmware on my Zorro, my throttle range went from 0 -> 100 to -100 -> 100. Does anybody know how I can change it back?

There is no hole in mode 2 to change throttle tension, we have to disassemble the radio ..:(

Hello, I a having the same issue. I changed to Mode One - the Throttle stick on the right works fine. The Elevator stick (Left) does not have the springiness. I took the back off - can't figure out what is wrong, why it is not working. If I can not figure it out by this weekend, I might have to return it
