So I have my smaller clips sourced from one clip, and theyre already on the timeline. Can I still accomplish this with it in my timeline or should i save each little snippet and do it from that bin folder section? Sorry if that didnt make sense, still trying to learn premiere

If this tutorial hasn't worked for you, just check you've added the right type of marker. I'd added clip markers at first by mistake which made this method not work. So before you press "M" on the keyboard make sure you have deselected any clips by clicking elsewhere in the timeline. Then press "M" and you should be fine from there. You're welcome :)
