I got to remember your line “ Done is better than perfect “ 😊. So true

Your procrastination reminded me of something Leonard Bernstein once said: "To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time."

Also: The end of this video is the first time out of ten of your videos that I've watched since last night that I haven't felt compelled to watch the next one. In every other video, you're clear about how the next video follows the current one. In this video, you end on an uncertain note. I'm not saying this over-critically--far from it. It's a perfect lesson because of the contrast with how you kept me watching ten videos in a row!

Wow - she knows everything I’m doing that uses too much time. She is absolute YouTube gold. I am learning so much !!!

You are on a roll! Keep going! I just did a 30 day film/edit challenge just for myself to get more comfortable talking to the camera and doing basic editing. It was so helpful. Now, with your help, I am about ready to actually upload something!

Thank you for this Virginia! I started in yt and posted 2 videos but stopped like a year or more ago because I was so disappointed that editing a 10 to 15 minute video took me 2 weeks. I cannot! 😂😂

I have loved this! I found you tonight and binged all of your challenge videos. I was struggling thinking of what to post daily, as my niche is scrapbooking and my videos are usually a process of putting a scrapbook page together. But in one of your videos you talked about pain points…what is your audience’s pain point. It is that they don’t have time for it. So now I want to draw out a whole scrapbook process for several days to show that my week is busy but I’m going to take a small chunk of time each day to scrapbook and show what I get done for that day. You have also inspired me to change locations. I never do that because mostly I’m showing my work surface. But I’ve been doing this “for real” for 5+ yrs and am ready for the challenge to take things up a notch. Thanks for these! I just found you but already like and trust you thanks to your challenge videos. 😊

You’ve made life so much easier. Ive found editing to be

Kindly requesting if you can do a series on mindset cause I think that is what gets in the way of starting
1. Imposter syndrome
2. Dealing with burnout and fatigue as a YouTuber
3. Dealing with trolls
4. To keep going and not give up even when you don’t see the results

I’m trying to grow my channel but don’t want to run out of ideas so I’m uploading 3 times a week for the next few weeks then I will cut back to 1-2 times. I applaud your challenge. Well done!!

You are a machine! Your "think like a viewer" is a good tip. That's a reason why, when I think I've finished, I will wait a few hours and watch it again. I did that on my last video and found that, while I thought the info was important at the time it didn't really add anything and slowed the video down. Like you, I like to keep the video moving by varying my locations. Nobody wants to see me sit in a chair a speak to them for 5 or 10 minutes. Some people are great and engaging at that, but I'm certainly not.

We want you to keep going! This is inspirational to us smaller content creators and we appreciate your jovial spirit. I would love to hear your perspective on the creative process or ideation.

As a YT beginner, this was SO HELPFUL. I think once you get rolling as a creator, you forget little things and it becomes second nature. You answered so many things here that I wondered about. Your screen recording of how to edit in iMovie using control B - yeah, I didn't know that. Also, using canva (which I use exclusively) and saving as MP4 - didn't know that either. So refreshing to have this advice. THANK YOU for bucking the final cut pro bros and being relatable to us folks that like simple.

Love the tips for editing : Screencast / canva slides in MP4 - this was so helpful. I have a hard time with the scripting and planning. So that was really helpful too. Thank you!

I’m about 18 months here and ready to try something other than imovie… can you show final cut a bit? Also how is screencast different from a regular screen record? (Shift cmd 5)

I personally am having trouble with topics and time. I work full time and can’t seem to find the energy to squeeze everything in with all that I already do. I have started a spreadsheet with ideas for videos. I also keep a notes page going on my iphone so I can jot down any ideas. HOWEVER you have been an inspiration with all your very helpful educational videos. Thank you very much.

I use epidemic sound for music as got sick of searching for right background music for my content. 👍👍

As someone who didn’t know about you, or watch any of your videos until about three days ago.

Let me just say that I’ve really enjoyed your seven day challenge, even as someone who has yet to do one YouTube video! I like how real you are, and you can tell that you have been a professional presenter prior. I felt like there were so many nuggets that I need to watch each video over again. Really enjoyed this one. I liked how real you were with changing locations and even showing us your bag with all your mics, etc. Loved the part with you actually editing as well.

You have definitely been on a roll - it’s been fun to go along the journey with you and your audience. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing what else you do now that I am a subscriber. Keep rocking it.

I am really enjoying your videos but in every video I find myself thinking, oooh that’s a cute top! It would be awesome if you had links to those super cute tops, when possible, in the description box. Thank you for these videos!
