When you mentioned the purple filter I really had to look away from embarrassment because I do realize I wasted so much time just from watching my own results instead of continuing, so thank you!

The fact that a video about video editing is done in the form of a power point presentation and still has tons of value speaks volumes. Well done!!

Love the video, particularly the "purple method"

I understand why you would change the L hotkey to your mouse, it makes sense if you don't know the L key is set there "by design." This doesn't mean you can't change it if you so feel like it, but right next to the L key are the "J" and "K" keys. "J" does the opposite of the "L" key by playing in reverse and the "K" key acts as a pause button.

The reason this is important is because right above the "J, K and L" keys, are the "I" and "O" keys, which control your in and out points. The design of this is specifically for you to utilize this layout similar to how most of us use WASD for gaming.

But wait there's more!! The semicolon ";" and the apostrophe key ' coordinate with your in and out selection on the timeline or text based editing panel, which allow you to either "lift" or "extract" the selected media within the in and out points. "lift" will remove the media without rippling, leaving the empty space. "Extracting" will ripple delete the media. All of this done without ever needing to touch your mouse or press "c"

There are a ton of other key binds and designed intentions for the hotkeys, and this isn't to say there is one right way to edit, however this could be a huge efficiency gain for a lot of editors watching this. It was a massive boost for me. Great video!

Straight to the point, presentation format, not over-produced. This is perfect. Been editing for the past 8 years and these tips are great.

some more tricks:
delete: A
cut: S
Cut left from playhead: Q
cut right from playhead: W
5 frames back: 1
1 frame back: 2
1 frame froward: 3
5 frames forward: 4

I do the mouse exactly the same but i had to use a logitech G hub macro because premiere didnt recognise my mouse clicks so when im in premiere, that mouse click is "L"

also:
Theres this setting for playback replay or whatever its called which you have to google and mess something up in settings playback bla bla. what it does is that if you press "SHIFT + SPACE" it will play normally but when you press space again it doesnt just pause but it goes back to where you started to watch. i use this ALOT. always used it in vegas and missed it in premiere.

<3 hope it helped someone <3
