I really miss the times MD & FSM worked together... The collaboration of the two was absolutely Brilliant... The Road Trip adventures, trips to the shop, etc... Don't get me wrong, I love ya both equally but together was just another level of entertainment and enjoyment... It's really a shame we never see you guys together any longer... You seemed such good friends and it really came across in the videos... As always love your work and Art MD... 😎🤙

I love this series! Very low-key, realistic problem-solving, just the kind of thing most of us would be doing at home. I also love your bigger, flashier builds, but this is SO helpful for the average person in the hobby! Thank you!

Look how happy you are when you see how much the water clarity improved 😁

another great video. I used to use two nets but a girl I worked with 35 years ago ( Drucilla ) showed me this trick. Take a 'WHITE' plastic coat hanger and clip one end leaving about 2 inches of the curve ( hook ) this will be your handle. I sand the end smooth for friends and comfort. Cut the other end straight or just one inch of curve ( a small portion of curve makes the chase stick more visible to the fish ) Your overall chase stick length is about 15 to 16 inches. I set my net in one place and chase the fish into it with the white plastic stick. Sounds all wrong but please try it a few times ( even once ) and you'll never look back. A chase stick moves much smoother between plants and is WAY less damaging to the tank. Drucilla made this look so easy I was convinced right away and have never looked back. Thanks for your channel, I look forward to each episode.

I have used these type of feeders before and they're fine for a couple of days. Then the flakes or pellets absorb air moisture from the tank water and they clog and cease to release the feed anymore. Although yours is situated reasonably high up so may not have that problem.

auto-top-up is such a cool thing. changed my life :) - I didnt get a float thing, I got an electronic one (the green ones if ytou see them on ebay) because it also flahses red when the top-up water is out. I put my Leaf-Zone fertiliser in the top up water too so no need for a doser

this setup you do, are you trying to go natural aquarium? if so you should go out to a pond and gather things from the water like small animals that lives in it, atlest thats what ive been doing and my fish trives allot and you basicly dont have to do anything at all with the tank, everything does it own job, no need for any chemicals or water changes, i love that ^^

the frog doodle shirt is so cute... will you make other designs too? shipping to my country (sg) is a pain, so just buying one shirt will hurt too much, but perhaps a few doodle shirts can ease the shipping pains :3 love your vids.😊

As always, another beautiful piece of work ✨✨ I love seeing the progression of the tank and how it has changed since day one. Proud of you MD for starting a long term project!

I have a 40 gal that is completely dialed in with a full crypt and Anubias jungle that I love to sit and watch, especially the turtle that calls it home. My other tank is a 10 gal which has been harder to get perfect. That one is stimulating because I have fun tweaking doses, water changes, and trimmings. Stupid string algae always comes back so I have my hands in that tank every couple of weeks. The substrate system is not as robust so when I have the money and inspiration I'll just reset it. In the meantime I've experimented with plant care and filter maintenance. Pretty sure a larger filter would fix the problems as well, the tank needs more surface area for beneficial bacteria.

I have a similar feeder to that and am not super happy with it with flake. As the drum empties out, and the size of the flakes changes, the amount it feeds also varies a lot. Mine doesn't have the fancy closing door, so humidity affecting the flake is also a thing. Might work better with granules. I've also noticed that my tetras don't really like to feed from the surface as much, so most of the flake gets gobbled up by the other fish before it gets down to them. I'm using small sinking granules (in addition to the flake) which they seem to be a lot more keen on. Your tank is getting there though. Interesting concept for a high-tech take on a low-tech aquarium.

This is how an aquarium should be like, I'm all into this ecosystem aquarium idea. I also achieved something like this with a 12 litres tank for my shrimps.
I envy your soft tap water btw 😂 you are very lucky

Plant die off gives tannins too, not just branches.

Branches gives brown tannins. Plant die off gives yellowish tannins

Unfortunately mollies eat their fry. Perhaps remove the parents if you see lots of fry again. Or, go for a heavily planted aquarium so the fry can hide. The later will explain your lack of success in the monte Carlo tank, the fry can't hide from predation.

I would love to see a tank near this one that is a high end version. Top notch lighting. Great filter. CO2. The works. Just an all out same size tank. Especially with similar plants and build just to compare what you get with the different build styles. Now that this tank is a couple months in. Would be a great time to show what an all out tank can do. Start it the same as this low maintenance build.

I don't know if it's available in the uk, but there is a product called purigen by seachem that will absorb any tannins that are in your tanks. That is another solution.
