China announces GDP growth target of 5.5% for 2022 in annual parliamentary meeting

China announced its GDP growth target of 5-point-5 percent for 2022... in an annual parliamentary meeting on Saturday.
That's the lowest in about 30 years.
China has seen its economic growth slow down in the past few months... due to global supply chain issues and a downturn in its vast real-estate sector.
The budget deficit target was set around at 2-point-8 percent of GDP,... a little lower than last year's... while the consumer price index target was unchanged... at around 3-percent.
Premier Li Keqiang pledged tax cuts... while announcing policies to deal with global risks and challenges.
Other targets included employment... with the country planning to add over 11 million new urban jobs.
