She didn't mention this. But China needs to devalue their currency if they want to keep exporting. So I'm sure the head of exports just sent a text message to the head of GDP: "Hey bro. We need to devalue the currency so can you report a contraction? Thx" Then the GDP guy was like "fine I'll put a negative sign in front of the number".
