A short Introduction to Galois Theory

Abstract: Solving polynomials is one of the oldest topics in history. Starting from diophantine equations, it continues to be a principal object of study in mathematics nowadays. In this talk, I wish to introduce Galois Theory to show that a general polynomial equation of degrees bigger than 5 is not solvable by radicals. In short, we connect the solvability of the polynomials with the solvability of the Galois group. I might also cover some additional interesting topics like applications and the history of the Galois Theory.
