I got a rabbit for the kids. They forgot about it and I fell in love with him. Had 3 dogs as well. One being a rottie and when they all knew each other and the dogs realized I loved this rabbit everyone got along. Left his cage door down and he would come and go whenever he wanted. Would go back to cage to use litter box. Never expected to create a bond like that with a rabbit. Had him 10 yrs and he was truely AWESOME!

The bond of a bunny was something I never expected to love. We just lost our boy of 13 years and he was such a joy to have. He loved his pet time and my mom hiding his blueberries, strawberries, and bananas in his bunny pellets.

I have had 3 rabbits in my lifetime and only one NEEDED pets to survive (exaggeration but she liked them). She gave us little kisses and and no fear of us. The other two ran at the sight of us. I do miss them dearly but Cleo was a real sweetheart and i miss those bunny kisses

Back in the 60s I had friends who had rabbits. They were always stuck in these stinking screened boxes in backyards. No one ever did anything with them so I always wondered why have them for a pet? Decades later my wife and I are at an adoption facility and this flop eared rabbit and my wife struck up a friendship. We adopted her and found her to be surprisingly intelligent. We let her run around and play with the cats. She would play. That was surprising, but then we found she was also toilet trained. She'd always go back to her cage. My daughter was so impressed she adopted a miniature bunny. They make great pets.
