I bought one of these right after bootcamp. Seeing it in the store was literally the first time I heard of it. I went on to play it throughout deployment and beat Pokemon Leaf Green while working in the trash room onboard USS Elrod, laying on bags of cans. Good times.

My favorite is the actual micro. I remember when i was in 9th grade, i traded my advance sp with a kid in my P.E class. Best trade i ever made because it was PERFECT to play games during classes. I would play in front of the teachers and they never suspected anything. It was stealthy and small enough that your hands could hide it while you play. I still have my micro to this day. It saved me years of boring lectures.

Is it crazy that I still love this thing? I have a bootleg 100+ cart and I play that every road trip.

I loved the micro. It was a pain to play and I don’t know who they thought they were selling it to but that “WTF?!” factor just made it something I knew I had to add to my collection. Great vid man!

With the GBA micro, you could swap faceplates, with the new 3ds, you could also swap faceplates, nice to know that Nintendo doesn’t forget their old consoles (even the forgotten ones (or they just coincidentally thought the same idea from 10 years ago and forgot about the GBA micro))

That GBA Micro commercial! WTF!? Really enjoy that they kept the region free portion for sure.
We added one to our collection but oh man, it's physically impossible for Tom to play. Actually, we scored one through a hook-up after starting our channel--we had someone reach out to us with one to sell for a great deal and we're so happy to have gotten it for a good price because yeah, it's just shelf candy now.

One thing I seem to enjoy about the game boy micro is faceplates - I find it surprising and interesting.

Also GBA is my favorite from the Game Boy series

Still have my micro from childhood and I don't ever plan on getting rid of it.

Micro is my favorite and I had 2 of them that I sold. I wish I never did. I had a Silver Micro with a black faceplate and the Japanese Famicom metallic special edition as well. When I bought them they weren't nearly as expensive as they are now. It's hard to find one under 200 these days in good condition including all parts and minimal to no wear. You can get one for 150 in rough condition, lots of scratches, missing parts, etc. I tried bidding on one last night and ran it up to 175 before tapping out. I want one but I'm just gonna keep waiting until I can get the right deal and checking daily for buy it now.

It might have been a failure at the time of release but now is highly sought after which tells you something right there. My son wants one of these from santa so I have to look at every game store sites and leave no rock unturned just to find this rarity. I want one myself just for my collection but i want the famicon edition. Thats it my favorite was the gameboy color as it has a brighter screen lumination to play and my favorite game was of course Zelda

I got one from the day of Black Friday that year it was released I never knew of these… however after seeing a small little display I got it for 50 bucks at Walmart and it also came with the Mario game. I love it after falling on hard times I pawned it for a loan however I finally just got the same one off of eBay color and all. It’s sad that these didn’t sell… I feel that it was t was marketed the proper way or even today everyone would buy these no questions ask. One thing is certain I will not let my kids touch this till I die… yes we have ps2, ps3, ps4 & ps5, oculus, etc. i feel that I need to keep it tight so it’s dosent break and that I have more years enjoying it finally that I have it back in my hands after 13 years. If your looking definitely google it or eBay you will get one

I had just started middle school and was closely following the release of the Micro and managed to get the 20th Anniversary edition for Xmas ‘05. (It was one of only two things I had asked for.) I honestly wish Zoomers stopped trying to buy these because it’s making it impossible for us Millennials who actually grew-up with them impossible to buy back our childhoods. Like, wasn’t most of Gen Z (1997-2012) born between 2001–2006? You guys were far too young to even even remember these in 2005/2006 and many older Zoomers at the time weren’t interested in anything Nintendo and were already starting to get hooked on YouTube, while all being well under the age of 12. If you’re gonna buy one, please buy one from Japan on buy them heavily used. I’m a grown man living on his own, but I recently discovered that my parents had accidentally broken my Micro while it was somehow in storage during their big move down South.
I really need a replacement and the price of a brand new American one has jumped from $400 to $1, 600 in just four years because Zoomers keep trying to buy them. That’s the equivalent of me trying to buy a mint launch edition NES and taking it away from younger Gen X-ers & older Millennials who grew-up with it.

That is one of my greatest finds. Almost didn't give it away.

Great episode! I love the GBA Micro, I've actually got twonof them. The first one the faceplate clip but broke. Apparently that's a common issue with them. Still works really well though and I love using it.
My favourite GB is the GBA SP. The screen does it for me.

I bought the limited edition Famicom version of the Micro on eBay for a pretty penny. It's worth every dollar.

My favourite was the transparent gameboy pocket, wish it had a rechargable battery and backlit screen.

My favorite Game Boy model is actually the original GBA because of the amount of hand room it had.
