I took the standardized tests many years ago, and I found that you could dramatically improve your score through the process of elimination. On a multiple choice test it is often easy to eliminate two wrong answers from a question you might not know the answer to, so you have a fifty/fifty chance of getting the right answer, even if you're not sure what the right answer is. I benefited from that enormously on my test scores. I think other students knew that when they took the standardized tests, but I don't think they exploited that approach as much as I did.

This shows the American vs Canadian academic ethos. Competition vs collective success. Sink vs swim.
No SATs or ACTs, a good high school grade average is all you need here. And a more chill academic enviroment

On my ACT test I scored 31 in math and 25 in English, which was a great surprise. I think it was someone's idea of a joke, because I was confident of my answers in English, and math has always been my worst subject. I think someone switched those scores as a prank. That was a long time ago, and I don't care about it now.

Amy, I wrote you about a year ago about r.test. I purchased it with your promo code for my daughter & when she took the assessment, it was wildly inaccurate. It predicted a 22 ACT. She took 3 official tests and got a 30, 31, and another 30. She and I both deemed the software to be unreliable and moved on.

Have you truly found something that works better and more efficiently than doing all the practicing and prep with paper tests? Unless I hear otherwise, I think we’ll just keep doing that.

Thanks Amy!!!

You know what I gathered charming from your videos? I bet you never thought such a word would appear in your comments. Well there was a video where you described your friends careers and how and why they were doing what they were doing. Also in videos you describe your efforts as a high achiever and trying to make an impact on the world. From everything bit by bit I felt I got a taste of that culture they describe in ivy league schools and perhaps silicon valley. Where they trying to make a difference and a break through in the world. I feels uniquely American. A real sense of the American dream as they say it. It's hard to exactly describe I can only put it in general words.

I’m watching this a year before I take my test. Does anyone know any good free, realistic practice tests?

I’m doing the district’s virtual curriculum now, and I just got the ACT paper in the mail. I used to be a straight A student in real school, but A’s and B’s in the virtual. I feel like I don’t know enough material, and I’m stressing about taking the test.

Ayy guys R Test is good but I will say it is very limited at the moment and you cant go back a question or forward in reading which like maybe personally a test strat thats very important. Overall, it's a great software but it definetely needs time before it is worth it.

I have the taking the ACT twice. The first time I studied, I got a 29, second I did no studying and got a superscore 30(I was able to improve my science section from a 27 to a 30). This time, I’m using 12 days to study. Will it be enough?
