Kia's new EV3 is possibly their most important new model yet. Whilst the stylish EV6 enthralled us with its sleek looks and the large EV9 gave us bold practicality, the smallest EV3 has to be the big seller. We knew it looked good, had lots of space on offer and offered a potentially class-leading range, but it has to drive well and be priced right in order to seal the deal. Bryan flew out to a rather wet Portugal to find out if Kia had yet another winner on its hands.

I'm in Ireland and my KIA dealer had 2 EV3's in stock last week, the GT line and the Earth 3 version, which is the one I drove. Its the middle version (Earth 2 is the entry level) . Great car to drive. It has the 81kw battery

Thank you for showing the rear wiper on the Kia EV3. I've been looking at dozens of review videos on YouTube and you're the first I see that shows the excellent design of the rear wiper on the Kia EV3. All rear wipers should be done this way.

Superb review! I've just applied to a test drive of the EV 3 and I think this could be my first EV and our main family car (baby probably incoming soon :D). As I currently drive 2017 Kia Ceed and I'm a designer by profession, it is impressive to se how Kia upped their game in terms of design language and attention to detail. Well - todays test drive was a total eye-opener. Hoping to move to an EV from a very sophisticated Mazda 3, I arranged the drive purely to allow my wife (owner of said Mazda) to sample EV driving.
We were both astonished at this cars poise, quality and design. The rock-steady planted feel on the road, the poise through corners and the remarkable performance were a revelation.
If you're interested in a compact but spacious car with good performance, I'd recommend a test drive to experience this for yourself! We were 'sold' on it by the end of a 3-hour demo.
Negotiating busy town traffic was a doddle due to the Auto-hold when stopped and the precise control allowing you to 'creep' when needed was outstanding.
Our biggest challenge was getting over the feeling of having to de-clutch when slowing to a stop - obviously like an ICE automatic but with no noise and no pollution.
Beautiful car if you can afford it. Just treat yourself to a test drive.
