Thanks for PERFECT presentation of a MAJOR topic without even a MINOR fault that will AUGMENT, if not DOUBLY AUGMENT, a viewer's knowledge base which will hopefully never DIMINISH.

For years I thought I was an idiot, but now I know I just had bad teachers - thank you 🙂

I learnt more in an hour with you than i have watching countless other tutorials. Magnificent. Thank you so much. Now that i understand the theory, the trick will be to try and identify these intervals in a piece of music. When i listen to musicioans and they say, 'oh, thats an augmented 5th' or 'so we have to play a diminished 7th' and then they play it, and do all of this in a second, im in awe. I dont think ill ever be able to do that, let alone that quickly, but youve given me the tools to try. Thanks again❤

I’ve been playing music since I was 10 and graduated college with a music degree. I was a music education major but switched and have a music minor. Music theory II was the hardest class I took in college. I remember counting the semitones and I never quite understood it. I played music professionally for a few years before joining the navy and have been playing guitar regularly. I’m now 35 and my daughter is learning guitar and asked me to teach her theory. I’ve learned more and understand theory now more than thousands of dollars of higher education and decades of playing and studying music having watched your videos just over this weekend. My 13 year old daughter now understands the circle of 5ths and can tell me all the accidentals in every key and is starting to understand intervals and chord voicings. She knows more theory than I did after 4 years of university level classes lol. You’re an excellent teacher thank you.

Many thanks for your brilliant series on music theory. I have spent 50 years playing acoustic guitar, completely in the dark about scales, intervals, how chords are formed etc. You have turned on a very bright light for me. It all suddenly makes sense. Looking forward to next week’s post.

I am presently taking a music theory class to help with self taught piano. I am working on intervals now. I am a visual learner and I love how you explain it. I now understand how to find the correct name of an interval.

Thanks Gracie. My music teacher years ago, meant well, but somehow you make it much less of a struggle to comprehend the rules of music. Again, thank you so much, you're the best!

Gracie, I think you're the most patient person I've ever seen. Going through every single step in every single example without taking any short-cuts. Brava!

Knowledge of intervals, augmented. Fear of theory, diminished. Progress made, major. Time spent, minor. Teacher, perfect!
