Like turning on a light in an old, dark, scary closet after years.

Thank you, Gracie.

You are one of those reminders that teaching is actually a gift in itself. So many people are qualified in their fields but teaching is an additional skill that not everyone possesses. Thank you for your videos :)

I've performed in over 100 concerts over the last thirty years. Gracie your teaching style of music theory has REALLY elevated my songwriting and overall musicianship. Thank you so much for sharing your gift of teaching.
You have a lovely calming way of presenting technical music theory and have been a wonderful gift to us all.
One Love!

These videos are going to be a Music Theory 101 class in a lot of schools, including Colleges and conservatories! Her music theory knowledge is 100 and her teaching pedagogy is 100 as well!

Nobody else have managed to get music theory to sink in, Gracie you are a very talented teacher, thank you.

I'm currently studying a music theory course and the way they teach intervals is so clunky and confusing with the cross-referencing of semitones with interval names, (7 semitones = a perfect 5th. etc) The method you teach is SO much more efficient and easier to remember. 6 pages of a textbook got reduced to three small tables and a paragraph of text. THANK YOU! I might just pass this thing now lol.

You are awesome, I am a second semester, music, major, and I'm 60 years old. I love your videos, cause you just break it down so much better than my professor. Thank you for saving my a$$

I started learning to read music and play the saxophone at the age of 30. Now at the age of 71, I have made many attempts to understand more of the theory, but failed. Stumbled unto your videos, and you really have the gift of explaining theory. I am finally understanding a great more. Keep up the good work.

Studying this video with guitar in hand. Now that I've memorized the notes on fretboard, it's easy knowing interval names and qualities without doing the mental step by step process Gracie is teaching. Because the finger positioning for each interval is the same (except for B & G strings) all I need to do is place my fingers on the notes and recall the interval quality & number based on the shape which is becoming instantaneous. I've watched these videos multiple times over the past 2 years; each time I learn something that evolves my musicianship. It was a long road getting here and Gracie's videos have been an integral part of my journey. Thank you!

After playing guitar for 15 years I finally started wanting to dive deeper into theory to expand my songwriting capabilities. These videos are the best series I have found on YouTube after searching for MONTHS. Thank you!

You're amazing! I've taken three college level music theory courses and none of it makes sense with how teachers explain it. In less than an hour you explained intervals clearly, concisely, and interestingly.

Gracie, as a retired teacher myself, I find this method to be clear-cut. Thank you!

Your use of many examples - all drawn from just the C Major scale - is perfect. Teaching it this way completely anchors the necessary concepts. I'm looking forward to applying this method to other scale interval qualities you'll work through with us next week!
