I like this. I’m sitting in my shop right now pouring a 8’x26” river table with spalted maple. I have two more dark walnut slabs in the shop so I bought two sheets of 3/4” melamine and with today’s pricing I payed $98.49. I believe I’ll be saving that second sheet and give your method a shot. I always end up tuck taping the melamine anyhow, and I caulk it inside and out before the tape. Good and informative video. Thanks!

What do you about tables that are wider than 24 or longer than 48"?

Thanks in advance, love your stuff!

Is there a top or bottom to the sheet of polypropylene? Not sure if it matters which side is up.

used caulk on my last epoxy table attempt for seams and after i poured it slowly over curing time the caulk melted and released and mixed in with the table around all the seams, is there a type of caulk thats better for epoxy molds? it seems to me so far that if you're using tape over wood, don't also use caulk on inside since it won't hold.

Question for you. Hopefully still answer questions to old video.
But do you think this could be fixed to wood. So you have a stable strong mold. But with this material all on the inside with the edges sealed. That way you could have a solid mould that could be connected by the wood time and time again!!. Thoughts please.

Thanks for the video..very informative and really appreciate your all your insights from years of experience... Have a curve ball for you - as a super lazy way that would guarantee a 100% seal - have you ever tried / considered using a heavy gauge plastic sheet ( like a moisture barrier ) ? I guess youd cut it a bit larger then the table and wrap around the edges and secure it up higher then the epoxy level . drawback is that you can't use the mold again .

The video says the sheet is 1/8 but in the description it says 1/4. I have never done this before and would really like to try. I want it to try but not sure what the thickness of the sheet should be to where I can cut myself and Ben the shape I want. Thank you

Thanks for the info. Question tho, top link is for 1/4" and you show using 1/8". Big difference, should we get 1/8 or will 1/4 be good for say up to two inch pour. THanks.
