I wanted to post a note now that two years have passed. I am now up to over 300 plants of my own. Learned to prune, transplant, grow from clippings... and it all started here. Now I plant in pots for other people myself.

This video is just what I needed for my 5 plants in my backyard in Houston, Texas, which I planted last year. I know I’m a little late with pruning this year (it’s currently late March), but now that I know how to get started I will do it today. Thank you so much.

Haha. I loved the chicken video bomb. My chickens are always interested in what I am doing. Lots of stories they tell. Great video! I got my first black berry and red raspberry plants this year.

Great video. I have 6 blackberry Vines about 4 years old and they produced enough berries last year to make a lot of jam. I have always trimmed here and there, but did not know to literally chop the old dark vines down. There are flowers and blackberries are growing. I will trim off the dead vines today. Thanks for a great video.
What the hell is a chigger??? 😲

I had no idea the canes were only good for 3 years! I will have to remember this when I plant mine.

I’ve been digging up wild bramble berries for a few years now and I have around 15 different varieties of berries, from around 8 or 9 blackberry varieties, to wineberries, black raspberries, and a few different red raspberry varieties. I’ve got huge patches of red raspberries and some thornless blackberries mixed in. I’ve been concentrating on cleaning up the patches and putting them in trellised boxes so they’re easier to control and harvest. I’ve been experimenting with different pruning methods and I’m excited to try some of these

I am starting my first blackberry plants here in Alaska. I have ten that I got from Salty Acers in NC. Good information for later on when they are full grown.
