I miss the blackberries I had, but don’t miss the thorns! If I get any more they’ll definitely be thornless. For now I guess I’ll just have to eat all the wild ones I come across. Thanks for the proverbs quotes and scriptures. If there’s one thing I desperately need it is wisdom!

I use the tips for blackberry leaf tea along with some other herb that suits me. Very healthy with antioxidants, antibacterial, and trace minerals

First Spring I planted Prime Ark. They really got long 10ft plus. No further blooms, but we did hit the 90° s .
Just did pruning and save some to propagate and save leaves to dehydrate for teas.
Thanks TP2

Appreciate your tips on Prime Ark variety pruning. Trying to stay on top of it this year.

It's amazing how the end of winter freeze when plants were blooming, looked dismal. Now look at the blackberries, you're going to harvest this year, what a blessing.

Exactly the video I needed to see at the right time.

Per guidance pruned my PAF primocanes just above the trellis

Cleaned up and stuck the removed tips in potting mix in the shade

So many leaves falling to the pruning! Have you tried making blackberry leaf tea from them? I understand you want to avoid any spiny bits on the underside, though.

Alan, another great video on blackberries. I learn something every time you make one. I have one question, what is the life expectancy on plants in wicking tubs. Mine have been in the tubs for 5 years now and they seem to be doing ok, but it looks like they are not producing the number of new canes like they used to. I do water and fertilize them regularly. Thanks

Perfect timing! Well, almost. My canes are about 7 feet tall now! My Earthbox berries have been producing for about 6 weeks now. Time to start some slips.

I had one of my natchez blackberry store bought shrubs I cared for 1+ years and its been cut in half.
It grew more leaves than it did most of the year after that.
I need to know how to make my natchez grow laterally. Its always too short. I see one blossom this year.

Last year it was 4-5 blossoms.
No clue what to do other than trying to grow more from seedlings which is very hard as a beginner.

I want to grow herbal plants like mint, rosemary, and perhaps sage.
I like my blackberries because it's a family treat I want to give and share.

That's why Im looking forward to applying any new techniques I can from your channel.

Even though my shrub is smaller an 12 inches all around above ground.

Thanks for your education brother! God bless you

Oops I waited 2 long 2 🤏 they are giant 😂 8 to 10 foot tall with lateral forming at the top. I am not sure if I should try an correct this. I want to see if I get lateral all the way down the cain. I do have them tied to the trellis wire. I'll play it by ear an do better next year.

Looking good on the primeacanes, I had few problems with bugs make a ring around the outer stem maybe cut worms, BTW I ordered 6 Black Gem primacanes from Starkbros they had a sale with free shipping.

The Arkansas variety canes, Ponca, I planted last year, the new canes are almost 2" through. Thickest I ever saw one be.

This is year 4 w my bbs. They finally bloomed and have the start of tiny berries now . They are way higher than my fencing . Should I prune them after they are done producing ?
