Long time magician, quick tip if it can help someone:

Instead of pushing both top cards with your fingers after the shuffle, I recommend simply letting the fall a bit forward AS you finish the shufle. This eliminates unnecessary movement. If the cards are still not outjogged enough, you can readjust with your fingres. This is also useful because sometimes your fingers are not sticky enough to push the cards.

Also, it's not adressed in the video but it's more convincing if you make both of your middle fingers touch each other when you push the cards in. This blocks the front side of the deck and prevents the spectator from seeing the packets go one on top of the other.

Cheers

I learned to count cards from my English teacher who's blacklisted on most of the sunset strip

Okay, this Domain . com segment is the best yet. I learned so much about the history of domains!

The zarrow is amazing, but I prefer pickup control methods (be it in an overhand shuffle or slip cuts, etc) continued to a false shuffle. Mostly because I shuffle on off-beats and want less focus on the deck while I’m performing a slight. Regardless, I love the fact that you introduced so many of your viewers to some of the history of card magic, not to mention the video itself.

I've always thought the Zarrow was the Holy Grail of false shuffles, I just haven't been able to put in the necessary time to get it to look passable. Some day...

A Brushwood video without a YT comment about remembering the spikey hair?! Not so fast!
"lol do you remember when he had that spikey hair?"

Pew, feels much better now!

Nice! I used to do the version. Where you slide the packs weaved together through each other but I like this version a lot. I'll have to practice a lot for this one.

The couple you showed were so clean. That's good practice right there

There is another slight variation of this where you don’t slide the top ones up like that, you actually push the cards together as if you are squaring them up. You leave a few MM of each end hanging out and pull all the cards on the right out and all of them on the left out and act like you’re cutting the deck and whichever card was on top just put that sides block on top. It’s easier to master than this version but this version is more consistent

Had to rewatch @ 6:04. Thought we entered a time space continuum when the shadow changed. Anyone else? No? Just me? Ok, cool.
