Google Domains Update - 9/20/2023

Here's a quick update on the Google Domains to Squarespace transition! You can no longer register new domains at Google but you can manage your current ones. It appears that the data transfer between Google and Squarespace has started but none of my accounts have been transferred yet. Stay tuned for more!

I migrated my google domains to namecheap about a month ago. I just didn't trust google to handle this migration.

Got most of my domains over on Porkbun and will likely move the rest over from Google as renewals come up. For the most part they're just using the basic included DNS which should hopefully stay the same when SS fully takes over.

The one domain I have DDNS set up on though and that's going to be fun to figure out. Currently using the DDNS client in my ER-X which handles Google's implementation fine but is too dated to include Porkbun's API. However I posted a thread on the Ubiquiti forums about this and looks like someone custom compiled a newer ddclient version that can be dropped in place and SHOULD have support. I haven't had a chance to test it yet so not 100% sure how reliable that'd be. I'd be happy to share the link though.

What about google workspace I purchased google workspace as a bundle with Google domain. Do I retain my google workspace account. And I also have 2 google sites linked to the domain what happens to my sites?

My question is what if you manage email accounts that are Google workspace, that are managed via Google domains "email" panel...I have businesses that run on workspace that are linked to domains. Willie I will be calling you

I'm really debating on going to Cloudflare. I'm supposed to renew this month. I'm hesitant of dumping it mid migration.

This is a freakin gaggle, cannot talk to anyone, no email access, a bunch of non-workers letting some sort of automation to figure it out. I have domains that expired that were set to auto renew and I cant get them back. What a wonderful world full of technology and no help.
