You can tell in Shelby’s videos that when she was in New York she loved it and had excitement in her eyes every day! I was a little disappointed when she got the Seattle apartment because she seemed so happy and refreshed in NY. I’m glad you are excited about NY too because you two could move there together and figure out NYC together (and split the high rent costs).

I'm sure you don't want to get into all of it in a video but what happens with your personal life and relationships is really key at this age too. You have to factor in spending all of your vacations flying to California to see family, if you see yourself in New York ten years from now with a family, etc. Given how successful you have been in Seattle in just one year, it feels like there is room to grow exponentially in the upcoming year--or even better, not make work the focus of your life and spend that energy on relationships and creative pursuits. If you do go out there, bargain hard--the fact that you pulled so many people in from social media in one year makes you stand out a lot from the typical starting agent.

It's a smart move on Ryan's part especially with your youtube reach and the ability to get clients via youtube. He's started using social media to get an upper hand in real estate and you'd be a great addition to that. It'd be a lot of work though and a completely different mentality than Seattle. So if you're feeling burnt out in Seattle, NY might not be the best option. Would your BF also be down to go? 3 hour time change and a huge workload are not great for a relationship.

Loving the music choices for the editing - really fun and quirky!

Undecided. Emotionally Seattle. Excitement, new beginnings, income potential, New York. If I had a boyfriend, family, and a dog in Seattle, that would make it hard for me to leave, but if Ryan wanted me to come work with him, I’d do it!

Monica, this is such sincere and heartfelt content! You really convey the dilemma and the pros and cons. I am Talia’s mom and I am endlessly proud of her and how far she has come and what she has accomplished. It looks like you had a great day together and she RAVED about her time with you. I say go for it. You will likely regret not taking the leap! You can always go back if it’s not for you. Everything you want is on the other side of fear! 💪

The best investment one can do right now is investing on real estate though stocks are good but ever since I swapped to real estate, I've seen so much difference.

So what do you guys think.. New York or Seattle? or a different city!?

IDK, do you really like the day to day of being an agent? I loved your idea of helping other realtors set up a social media presence and think there’s huge potential there. You could do that from anywhere you want. You also said you missed YouTubing; would there be time to do that and also be an agent for a competitive big-time firm? Only you can decide what makes your heart happy. Cheers and good luck whatever you decide!

Idk about $600, 000 for a one bedroom being real estate that “normal” people can buy…. 😂

Finally!! The way you have been talking about your goals for real estate seem to align with Serhant. I have been waiting for you to consider joining them. Go learn and grow in a bigger real estate pond with the big fish helping you.🐟🐟

Tough call! What about Jason and the reno? Im all for living your own life and not letting a boy get in the way, but solid long term people are…great. If he can go and wants to, then I think it would be an awesome thing to try! But moving there and leaving part of your heart in Seattle seems tough, or would be for me anyway!

Would be quite ironic that Shelby has been wanting to move to NY and then gets the apartment in Seattle and then you move to NY 😅

Best thing I ever did for myself was leaving my hometown and living somewhere different. The money doesn’t matter - the perspective, personal growth, and re-inspiration for life does! And you can always go back so why not?? Seems like a great opportunity and can’t wait to see what you decide 😊

Do it!!! GO TO NEW YORK!! I think that even if you go for a year, it would be such a cool learning experience and you would grow so much as a real estate agent. You are literally still young and have so much opportunity. I would seize this one. You will thrive so much. Seattle will always be there for you as well but I think that it's time to take a chance and just go for it! If you're worried about money think about the knowledge you will gain in comparison and how much that will help you if you decide to go and then move back to Seattle. You got this!

Part of this decision should really come down to how much different the real estate market will likely be in the next 12 months (or longer) compared to the previous 12 months.
