Who doesn’t love “Moana?” It’s a great movie with a feel-good story. At least that is what we are led to believe. But there might be some things about the film that Disney isn’t telling us.

Did you ever wonder how the animators for the film got Moana’s hair so perfect? Seriously, it looks exactly like human hair. Well, Disney actually recruited hair models to imitate their hair movement. Unfortunately for the hair models, Moana is in the water a lot. Because of this, the girls had to be constantly dunked under water in order for the animators to look at their hair.

They say Olaf was melted... but this movie likely took place before frozen. Animators likely used the carrot because they already had the pictures drawn. How would a carrot from his nose get to an isolated island?

Disney proboaly never thought about the tenichalities of Maui being a demigod. Who says he was dead?

The fact that she was going to be chief shows she likely wasn't dead. No one makes a dead person chief, despite their protests, and make it such a big theme in the storyline. They also talk to her like a real person

If moana was not in danger then Maui wouldn't save her from the crab. The ocean likely isn't to powerful. It never really did anything big.

Pua and Hayhay are her pets that she rescued, like when they almost cooked Hayhay. Remember the scene where moana eats pork and pua is sad. Exactly, there are other pigs, and pua likely isnt acknowledged because he isn't a big part of the storyline.

Finally, the grandma became ill BEFORE she gave away the stone. She was going to die either way. They needed her spirit to be there for Moana when she faces her fears

This is a movie.... NOTHING in the movie is a "dark secret'', especially because it is animated. A carrot?!? As OLAF'S NOSE there are many carrots in the world... that is not olaf's nose....

Here's the thing about Pua, he re-appeared toward the END of the movie when Moana had returned to the island after she restored Te Fiti's heart and everything went back to normal

Pua was real, in one scene Pua ran into a area with to kids and they started laughing and such.

You do realize Moana takes place long before Frozen right? Yes, many do have dark pasts, but they show and tell in great detail that those pasts don't have to hold you down if you don't want them to. So yes, these are good stories for children to learn from because it's one of many ways in which they absorb moral things in life. If anything, protecting your children too much by being over-protective or over-sensitive to such things can have a negative impact.
I think you're also overthinking the whole demi-god recruiting method. Their's plenty of myth stories where mortals attained great powers.
No, she wasn't the only one who saw gods and great things. Her grandmother did too. Considering she had several different types of conversations with everyone in her village, interactions when growing up, and general interests and dreams that went against her father's, not to mention the whole finding of the boats scenario, I'd say that she wasn't dead.

With the heart, again you're looking way too much into it. It's a plot device to represent the human heart's potential as a compass of love and understanding, while also showing how frail it can be when led astray or you lose it all altogether. This is reinforced when Maoui tells his story as well as the story of Te Kā, the lava monster.
Pua doesn't disappear, he runs away after they get back to shore and is seen at the end of the movie.

Pua was playing with kids in the beginning so that theory wrong
