Actually, the writers addressed this.Gloves are an important detail in the movie. Elsa and Hans used gloves to hide something. Elsa was hiding her powers, and Hans was hiding his true intentions. He takes his gloves off when he refuses to kiss Anna. Then he puts them on again when he walks out of the room. Look it up

He was acting from the start

While they are singing, Hans starts saying "I mean it's crazy, we finish each other's..." and Anna quickly answers "...sandwiches!" with Hans adding a fake "That's what I was gonna say!".

Of course that's not what he wanted to say, but he had to pretend he did so Anna would feel like they really had a "connection", you see, that was the whole thing about Hans, he wanted Anna and everyone else believe that he truly loved Anna, so when he eventually betrayed her and Elsa and take over the kingdom it would appear as he had no other choice, like he planned on the end of the movie.

His lines in their duet are literally "I've been searching my whole life to find my own place" and while she is admiring him he reiterates "I've found my place"
His motives are subtle but there the whole time

Fun fact there is a book about Agnar and Iduna's life before and slightly after their daughter birth. In said book, Agnar says, " many people were after the throne of Arendelle including The southern ilse, " so the trolls didn't manipulate anything in Hans mind. Hans even says "I originally was going to go after Elsa but no one was getting anywhere with her, so I turned my sights on to you. You were so desperate it almost made it too easy." Therefore Hans was allways after the thron.

He was just acting though, his plan was to betray her from the start

In “Love is an Open Door”

Hans: “you” (referring to Anna)
Anna: “and I” (referring to herself)
Continued: “We’re just meant to be…”

Anna and Anna? Yeah he literally said from the beginning “you’re meant to be without me”.

Hans is doing something called love bombing. It’s a very common abuse tactic where in someone goes very, very hard at being affectionate and thoughtful only to suddenly flip the switch as soon as they’ve got their target where they belong.

It’s hammy how Hans turns so suddenly “evil” but it’s pretty obvious he knew what he was doing.

No, this is a stretch because when he reveals his intentions he says how being the last of 12 he would never have a chance at a kingdom so he was manipulating Anna to marry him so he can take over as king of arendale (or however you spell it)

Actually it was pretty clear he was purposely trying to fool her.
When they sang "love is an open door", he was clearly trying to make advances and win favour, while walking on eggshells around her, and he stopped as soon as he didn't need to.

Love is an open door, Hans makes his intentions clear when he motions with wide swept arms to tje kingdom of Arendelle while singing, "I've been searching my whole life to find my own place"

As in "I'm going to make this place mine." Hans was a bad guy right from the beginning.

Also, What's Duke Weselton hiding? (since someone pointed out that gloves are used to convey 'hidden secrets') If I had to guess- probably his sick dance moves XD

Fun Fact: In the original draft of Frozen, Hans was never going to be the villain.

You have seen when Hans came in the starting he’s wearing clothes that matches Elsa’s clothes so he was after the Queen but when he met Anna, he changed his mind because Elsa didn’t like any man

In the song Love Is An Open Door, Hans talks about finding his own place and motions to Arendalle. His goal was ALWAYS to be King. He never loved her

i think it was his intention from the start. He found Anna to be an easy target so he took the chance he had. You can hear in “Love is an open door” when he sings the line “we finish each other’s-“ and gets cut off by Anna saying “Sandwiches.” His face goes confused but ultimately goes with it. Obviously the line was meant to be “Sentences” but i feel like this his confusion hinted at him going along with what she said just so she liked him more and more, up until he proposed.

Elsa was originally supposed to be the villain of the movie. After hearing the song let it go, they rewrote parts of the movie to make Elsa the hero, which is why you see such a drastic change in Hans.

I genuinely liked Hans for Anna if only he did not turned evil.

But there is this one song sentence where Anna sings we finish each others “sandwiches”, Hans meant to say sentences. This is when Hans realised how naive Anna was. He could potentially show fake love and rule Arrendele. All he needed to do was to get Elsa out of the way. And when they discovered Elsa's power, Hans will have the perfect opportunity to rule Arrendele.
