I added a 55 gal water heater that fits where the old heater was, Rule of thumb is a heater that can fill the tub 2/3rds with 1 third of cold water. Our tub is 75 gal so we needed a 50 gal heater. On demand heaters of any size require a large feeder which may triple your spending. Rheem makes a 55 gal low profile heater that a 30A circuit breaker can feed (22 amp load @ 240V)
