Jesus told us many times in the Bible that behold, he comes quickly, some of you standing here shall not taste death until the son of man returns, that those who pierced him shall see his return, just to name a few.
Either Jesus was a liar, or he spoke the truth. Jesus is speaking to those in his presence at that time.
The Bible was written NOT TO US, but for us.
Rome was destroyed in 70 ad. There was also 18 months of darkness at that time, that we are not taught about. The 18 months of darkness caused famine as well.
Isn't it interesting that there was what is referred to as THE DARK AGES which lasted 1, 000 years. Satan is also referred to as the light bearer. The statue of 🗽 liberty holds a torch, with a broken chain on the ankle which is probably to celebrate satan's release from the pit. During the so called Dark Ages is when megalithic structures and mansions began appearing all over the world even in remote places where it would seem impossible to build on mountain tops and even in the midst of waters. To satan the millennial reign would be his dark ages. Satan did come to change times and seasons as the Bible states. The Bible says satan deceived the whole world.
The Bible also states that Jesus will return as a thief in the night and he will to many believers who don't know how late we are on the timeline. I believe we are in Revelation 20:7 and much later than most realize.
Knowledge has definitely increased as stated in the Bible.
As far as when it says that He will cause the sacrifices to cease, animal sacrifices ceased in the first century. The sacrifices aren't going to begin again only to have them cease. Therfore, that has already taken place.
The elect of God are not the unbelieving Jews, God's elect are those that believe in Jesus.
I take Jesus at his word, and believe what he said to the people standing before him at that time. If it's a parable, the Bible states so, like Parable of the Fig Tree. Yes, we missed the Millenial Reign!!
