A friend of my dad's actually kept this exact plane in my dad's hangar for a couple weekswhen hurricane Ian recently hit Florida, his friend lived in the path so he brought it to South Alabama but He said it cruises at 100 knots in calm winds but those things are super freaking nice on the inside andjustthefactthatit has retractable landing gear and you can land that little puppy on water makes the slow speed and the $250, 000 price tag worth it in my opinion. It's basically like sitting in a new Vett but the best part about owning one is that you just crank it up like a vehicle/ just turn the key and let it warm up for like 1 minute and off you go unlike a normal airplane where you have to turn your master switches on and prime the fuel and push the mixture to rich and then turn the key and then wait until the oil temperature warm up which can take anywhere between 5-10 minutes depending on the type of engine because if you don't let the oil temp get in the green area then it's very possible that you'll Crack a cylinder and that's a disaster especially if it happens right after takeoff. but that's just on small planes, my dad's crop duster is kinda the same but you have to pump the manual fuel handle while cranking it but the bigger you go the more steps you have especially jets, they are absolutely insane to start, way to many steps just to start the engine(s) but I've only seen it done on video

This story has nothing to do with this video but it just goes to show that if a pilot rushes to get airborne how quickly things can go wrong. He had a gas twin engine plane with 8 seats thankfully seven were empty but even after he started the plane let it warm up taxied to the end of the runway and I'm not sure if he ran the engine RPMs up to a set RPM to check your magnetos but he lined up on the runway and took off and about 100 yards past the other end of the runway his engine sputtered out and quit and he crashed into two oak trees and surveillance cameras captured the crash and him climbing out of the plane while it was just starting to catch fire but he forgot to turn on the fuel which led to the engines quitting 🤦‍♂️ I just think it's wild how he had enough fuel in the lines to get airborne when it had probably been running for a good 5-10 minutes including bringing the engines up to a few thousand RPM's to check the mags or at least had ran them up to make sure they were running smoothly. You can't be careless when owning/ flying an airplane. A car crash is 1 thing but a plane crash is a whole nother story. He was very lucky that he walked away with a few scratches on his head
