2.45 GPA, Failed the same class 2 times, no internship experience. This tuesday, I start my first full stack dev job. Took a while to get good at programming, but just cause school wasn’t really for me, doesn’t mean I couldn’t learn outside of it.

I only majored in CS cuz I wanted to start my own company and build it myself, I got a 2.1 gpa, still one of the coldest programmers at my school and I’m about to start a company 🤷🏾‍♂️

Thank you for being open about your GPA. I’m currently a CS Major and I’ve struggled with my confidence to continue in this major because i did poorly in the intro classes although I did pass. Nevertheless, this video put the CS program all into perspective for me. It’s definitely a roller coaster! Thanks Man, cheers!

I love people with low gpa. It makes it more realistic and show you dont need to be smart. Just need a lot of dedication

finally a relatable person that majored in computer science.

It's good to know that you still got internships and work at a great company despite the GPA. I'm at a borderline 3.0 so this is actually really comforting. I want to work at Progressive in the future, hopefully, next summer!

GPA means nothing unless you want to go to grad school. Nonetheless, you nailed it! Great video!

GPA's are there to scare people. The real knowledge comes from the field. Great vid bro, always a pleasure to watch you. Could you do a video discussing, the programming mindset, and how long it takes for someone entering computer science do develop the programming mindset?

I enjoyed your video and your honesty! I shared this video with my CS high school students during CS Ed Week. Thank you.

Who cares about the GPA???! Look at you now my G. You're an inspiration. GPA don't mean shit my brother. Its about building resiliency and keeping a curious mind. Never giving up on your craft and making sure to embrace the suck and to keep pushing.

Well I got a 2.0 in EE, that was actually the absolute minimum to graduate, below that you get no degree. I was just doing any course that looked good, caring less about gpa. I immediately got a job paying 63-66K+ per year fresh out of school & it was my 3rd application. Years later am trying to be an entrepreneur & get more bucks

While a lot of my enjoyment from this video is nostalgia (I went to the same uni as Gyasi and also at the same time), a lot of the insight is still very informative and insightful! Great video, Gyasi!

You're lucky. When I was in college before you were born, we had C Curves. I had one in law school too. Finally, the schools got smart and realized it placed us at a disadvantage in the marketplace. I made an A in freshman English and it was reduced to a B with the curve. I made an A in computer programming and it was reduced to a B with the curve. At least your GPA was still a B.

I ain’t gonna lie I been finding reasons not to go to school for awhile but you make it seem worthwhile I’m just struggling looking for a school that fits my goals and hopefully it’ll fit my expectations

Currently a college student I'm majoring in Business Analytics and Minoring in Computer Science. I would say that STEM majors statistically have lower GPAs because their mode of thinking (my colleagues metaphorically call it "mental weight lifting") is being challenged in contrast to non-STEM majors i.e. Drama

Can you list out the classes. It's hard to watch a 20 minute video that has no annotations.
