Personally this it my favorite video on this channel. THIS is exactly the advice I'd have given myself prior to university. (I could literally repeat all points mentioned in the video, but personally I want to emphasize on skipping classes. It helped me improve my time spend by a lot. However DON'T take this as an excuse to do nothing. I personally spent the spare time I got from following the tips in this video to go through data science / machine learning related courses online in addition to my degree, while still maintaining top grades. A computer science degree can be achieved by anyone if you're smart about your time investment and planning.)

I've been getting really into Tim's content lately, and the most important thing I noticed is how much effort he's put into his craft.
I mean, who in their right mind would be able to assess a lecturer and see if he's fitted to teach you or not, to see if he deserves your time to teach you something valuable, as a 2nd year CompSci student?
Most of my fellow students skip classes to be 100% unproductive, while Tim takes it as a way of improving his time consumption and learning outcomes.
Not only that, but he also makes an active effort at home to use his time wisely doing what he loves.
Tim is destined for greatness in the Computer Science field, I wouldn't be surprised at all if in 2-3 years time he starts making videos like Clement, explaining how he founded his Startup and how he reached his first million dollars.

Thanks Tim, i've also currently finished my second year and strongly agree on this. Especially on reducing workload and time management

Outstanding! I’m active duty air force, and I have around one year left on my contract. I’ve had the dark cloud of college looming over my head for the past few months because i’ve felt so intimidated about it, particularly majoring in CS. I’ve had such bad anxiety about being overwhelmed with assignments and studying.Thank you so much for your tips and advice!

I wish I saw this in 2016 when I started college, and I especially wish I didn't take 18 credits first semester that really messed me up.
Studying the professor and learning which ones you don't need to go to class for cuz their less efficient than yourself is a great tip. Professors are trying to convey complex ideas to a large group and that's sometimes difficult to do. Self education is much better.
In terms of hw and projects, get anything you can do quickly done in the first 2 weeks. If you have one of those teachers who gives out all the hw first day, get them all done in 2 weeks. The hw and projects are also much easier to get very high grades on than the stressful tests which a quick B will suffice.
One last thing, what I did last semester (my 7th) was every day the night b4 I scheduled my next day down to the hour, exactly what I planned on doing the entire day hour by hour (incorporating classes and other stuff) and I kept to that schedule with a timer and my grades remained decent while keeping up with personal projects.

Snaps to all of these tips but especially getting things done early because it is a game changer!! Craziest thing I have noticed is I no longer feel guilty when I take time to relax because I've already completed tasks and can afford that time off. Great tips Tim

Well, I also recently completed my third semester. I would 100% agree with you. My tip is just to finish the projects before the finals, so you can focus only on the finals nothing else.

Tim, These apply to the work environment too as well as to life in general. I totally agree with your suggestions.

Well, shit. I just finished my 3rd semester too. I feel very intimidated by your success and maturity. Well done sir! Keep it up!

The whole writing down my objectives and crossing them out has been a game changer for me. Its like completing tasks in a video game almost which keeps me motivated to finish my work

You got me with the not always going solo, I'm definitely always doing that but because when I ask I always lose way more time waiting for an answer than just sending an email to my teachers. Great video!

I’m not sure what kind of assignments you got at the beginning of the school year but for me and many others it WAS overwhelming. I remember working for 20 hours on a problem set and getting 40%. Part of this was latex (searching up every single line in the beginning because my school doesn’t give latex templates) and another part was proofs and logic. Basically discrete math and my math classes which were half pure math. There you literally eat your whole brain writing proofs and your TA gives you 0 on half the questions, annotated “this is nonsense”. I found the assignments later in the year, though objectively harder, were easier for most first years because we’d finally figured out what “nonsense” meant.
