TIMESTAMPS ARE IN THE DESCRIPTION BOX

To everyone that received their GCSE results today, I hope you are very proud of yourselves and I hope that this video is able to help you for your next step. No matter your results, you'll find a path that works for you and PLEASE don't compare your results to somebody else's as we are all in very different positions!

Also, I'd like to say a huge thank you for all of the support recently. The fact that I am less than 800 subscribers away from hitting 100k absolutely baffles me. I am incredibly grateful. Stay tuned here & on my vlog channel for more content soon. I love you <3 xx

I just graduated from sixth form. Here's my advice:

- Don't slack in lower sixth! The more you can do to space out the amount of work you're doing the better, since the work can really start to pile on at the beginning of Upper 6th (Y13).

- You don't need to know what to do right away, but my school seemed to make us feel like there was no rush to figure it out but then at the end of Lower 6th (Year 12) they seemed to assume that we all figured it out and needed to have our choices NOW. Don't stress too much about it, but think long and hard about what you want to do all the way through Year 12, that way you'll have some ideas when asked later. It's ok not to entirely know!

- My school had a sixth form within it so I didn't move schools for Sixth Form. I can't really advise too much about new friendships, but I would recommend everyone to place friendships and school on the same level of importance in your mind. Neither should be more important than the other!

- Be prepared for stressful periods and times of heavy work. I did four A-Levels, and EPQ, Oxbridge applications and tutored. There were times when I felt like I never stopped working and broke down. I got through it though, and you need to recognise that stress happens sometimes but if you're feeling this way all the time then you need to seek help. Therapy is a godsend!

- Try to form a good relationship with your teachers - it's amazing how much loving your teacher can help you love the subject.

- Make sure you love your subjects! I took four essay subjects, so I was writing around 4 essays of around 1500 words on a good week (my school sets a ridiculous amount of essays). The essays SUCKED, but I loved the subjects so much that I had no regrets as I couldn't see myself doing anything else.

- You don't need to do any work before Y12! Read the books you need to etc, but otherwise just make sure that you're in the right mindset. In the summer after Y12, however, I would recommend doing about 2 hours a day of summer work. I don't know about your schools, but mine had loads of deadlines coming up in the first week back. Save yourself the stress of doing it all the week before and space out the work. That way you can feel like you still get to have a proper holiday!

- Organisation was my DOWNFALL and I WISH I had done more. Make sure everything is filed! I used to just have papers flying everywhere and I was too lazy to sort it all out... Dumbest. Decision. Ever.

- USE YOUR FREE PERIODS. This is honestly one of the most important pieces of information I can give. Even from the very beginning, make sure that you are working during your free periods. No one is perfect, so on tough days I would allow myself 10 minutes to relax but then spend the rest of my periods studying. It will save you so much stress and keep you in the productive mindset, plus you don't have to do as much at home! I also agree that you should be working alone as much as possible. I would always promise myself that I would actually get some work done when studying with friends, but that never happened whoops.

I hope this didn't scare anyone. Sixth form isn't easy but I have never loved my subjects as much as I did in sixth form. If you're still sticking with me after this humungous comment I wish you all the best of luck. You will do so well, I'm sure of it. Just keep a positive mindset and you can do anything you put your mind to!!!

I honestly wish that I had more people like you in my school, you seem like a super fun person to hang out with and I love that. It's so sad that nowadays people can easily think you're weird if you just come up to them and say hi (I see this A LOT in my school), I'm happy that you give the people confidence to approach others and to just start a conversation. Thank you for this helpful video, I'll definitely use the tips!

I’m going to a college in September and none of my friends are going, its in the city and has a bad reputation for crime and stuff, so I’ve been terrified of going, but this video made me realise that there will be others people there like me! Also some small talk for class of 2020 can be like “so, how did you find your GCSE’s?”

Talk about GCSEs, everybody’s done them 😂 not me 😂 though we will all definitely be talking about it 😂

I’m so excited to go to college and have a fresh start. I hate the feeling that everyone in secondary are so judgemental and obsessed with popularity. I want to find new people who are willing to get to know me for me

My social awkwardness is literally on another level 😂
Edit: omg thanks for all the likes and comments lol

i’m going in to collage in September and these are the things i’m going to try and do: 1. go in solo - i have a couple friends going to the same collage as me but i’m going to try and go in alone. i think that it may make me seem “available” for someone to be friends with as if i was with someone else people on their own may feel quite intimidated, i know i would! 2. class - when i go into my classes i’m going to try and sit next to someone who looks nice that i don’t know. more of a chance of making friends! i’m also going to make sure to start making revision resources right away to make sure my Y13 year isn’t really overloaded. 3. leave everything else in the past - i suffer from a number of things at the moment and i would really like to try and leave them in secondary school.

i’m starting college later this year, and it’s around 45 minutes away from my house on the bus. i’m really nervous because of my anxiety, i’m worried that i’ll get panic attacks daily or that i’ll find the new environment too difficult to adjust to. i only get anxious/panic attacks in public places and i worry it’ll happen in college.

Going into year 13 but still watching this! I would say do the subjects you want to and enroll at the sixth form/ college you want - trust me it will be a much “easier” transition. Remember education stays with you forever.
