In today's Star Wars Legends Lore video, we discuss 5 ways the Empire could have won the Battle of Endor.

The Space Battle of Endor, as featured in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was the definitive moment of the Galactic Civil War. With the Rebel Alliance's destruction of the Death Star II, the deaths of Palpatine and Darth Vader, and the destruction of the Executor Super Star Destroyer, the Rebels would go on to form the New Republic.

How could the Galactic Empire have won this battle? We'll discuss today.

The Emperor was a great leader, but it was in the end his overconfidence that led to the Empires defeat. It also didn't help that fools such as Admiral Piett were in command of the fleet.

I do agree that they could have brought more firepower, but at the same time Endor was going down, another giant battle between the Rebels and Empire was Sullust. Of course as we know, most rebel forces were at Endor and while the Empire knew this they still sent an actual fighting Force to Sullust to keep up the charade for Endor. And while it was said that the Empire had 25, 000 star Destroyers they still had a lot of galaxy to keep under control. So I don't see very many resources being sent to Endor and like you said, the Rebels would have probably noticed such a big movement of ships at such a convenient time. Everything else I agree wholeheartedly, pure incompetence.

As a more recent follower of your channel and Star Wars lore in general, I never realised how massively incompetent the empire was at Endor and the points you brought up were really interesting.
As for games, I think it'd be awesome if you played some of the excellent Star Wars mods for "Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion" (like "Sins of a Galactic Empire") because of the massive battles you can stage between those awesome ships in that game.

the empire should have made an imperial III destroyer reinstating the exellent point defense system of the venator and recessing the bridge slightly in the same manner as the resurgence class destroyer.

You should create a perfect fleet using multiple sci fi universes ( Star Wars, Star Trek, Mass Effect, Halo, BSG, etc)

At the end of the day, the Empire fell because Palpatine was too overconfident in his and his army’s abilities that he underestimated the rebels to an almost comedically stupid level

The Alliance specializes in superb starfighters and for the Empire to ignore that and allow them fighter superiority without bringing in more fighters or anti-fighter corvettes is complete foolishness. Regarding the Death Star reactor, there should have been gates with guns blocking off access to the vulnerable parts of the station to prevent a fast attack by Rebel fighters.

Did you know there was an imperial force sensitive commander who used battle meditation at the battle of endor along with palpy.

Leak fake Death Star 2 plans to the Rebels (does not include location of reactor entrance and no info on the shield generator)
build more than one shield generator and put hyper-velocity cannons on Endor
more and better ships, fighters, and bombers
have a second fleet jump in after the Rebels get to Endor (preferably includes dreadnoughts that can destroy the Rebel ships just by slamming into them when exiting hyperspace, see 2003 Clone Wars Battle of Coruscant)
use any strategy not designed by Palpatine or his underlings (see Thrawn)
increase the military moral so everyone doesn't panic and flee when the single head of the government dies.
