[MUSIC] 'INSANE' (PARANOiD DJ Alastor Cover Ver.)

A full cover and re-interpretation of 'INSANE' in character as Alastor, featuring originally created backing instrumentation and sound design.

I'm back. 2 weeks after my surgery and I am at a place where I feel comfortable, inspired and wanting to get back into the swing of things. I've been very careful with what I've been able to handle and not pushed myself beyond what I cannot do, but my recovery speed since being at home at has been incredible thanks to the support of my family and all of you being so patient and encouraging waiting for me.

Hearing @BlackGryph0n 's own song for Alastor, his original singing voice, was the spark of inspiration I needed to get back into making what I love. To pay tribute to his incredible skill, I decided to change things up and not go for a straight translation cover where it is as close to the original as possible. I wanted to do something new. I changed all the instrumentation to be more 'analogue' compared to the original's electronic, adding in the sound design I felt would be appropriate for the lyrics and the scenes. I hope you like it all.

My "repairs" are almost complete. And this is a major milestone for doing so. Thank you for sticking with me.

DJ back at it again, and with a killer return so to speak. Especially Al's intonation, it's so very specific, it truly charactarises him. And of course people dying left and right. The sound design makes it so much more visualisable, and it's what makes your covers unique.

This sounds more like Alastor than the original. And the original is Alastor's singing actor!

This is really cool. I like to think of the original version as Alastor when he first dies, excited by his newfound power but still developing his Radio Demon persona. It’s energetic, but also introspective, as he considers if there really is something wrong with him. In your version, he’s settled into his character, the Radio Demon has consumed him, he’s confident with his power and has lost any lingering doubts.

This is so good, I love how you made it sound a little more in character for Alastor, and changed up how he said some things. Now I can totally imagine an animatic like Addict with this song. I also like how you had splash of blood, then said “sorry but you just got in my way” This was a very good performance for someone recovering, bravo! 👏👏
