When the radar waves hit the plasma cloud, the electromagnetic energy is dissipated & electromagnetic wave tends to pass around plasma cloud.
This will significantly reduce the RCS which makes the T-50 a stealth plane.
Yes, the heat generated by the cloud of plasma surrounding the plane will give its presence away but IRST/FLIR optics are constrained by their range to detect targets (about 100km) whereas radars can reach 400km-600km.

T-50 has RCS of about 0.009 square meter (estimated non-official)(size of a tennis ball).
F-35 has RCS of about 0.005 square meter (size of a golf ball).
F-22 has RCS of about 0.0001 square meter (size of a marble).
T-50's RCS 0.009 is by passive stealth technology.
The active plasma can reduce RCS 100 times or more.
Therefore, T-50 with passive & active plasma has RCS 0.00009 or lower (how much lower is top secret). :->

Application of plasma-deposition (alternating layers of metallic and polymer materials) to the cockpit canopy.
Application of ferro-magnetic Radar Absorbent Material (RAM) to the compressor face and to the inlet duct wall.
Application of plasma-type ceramic coatings to the exhaust and afterburner.
I think T-50 should have devices that produces a cloud of plasma surrounding it too.

T-50 has RCS of about 0.009 sqm (estimated non-official)(size of a tennis ball) with passive stealth.
Sukhoi announced that the T-50's RCS is 1/40 of Su-35S's RCS.
Therefore, Su-35S RCS is 0.36 sqm (estimated non-official) with passive stealth.
So with additional Plasma Active Stealth, the RCS of Su-35S will be 100 times less.
Therefore, Su-35S RCS is 0.0036 sqm (estimated non-official))(size of a golf ball) with plasma active stealth.

F-22's physical design (clean cut shape & flat surfaces) & application of Radar Absorbing Materials (RAM) forms the passive stealth.
As for the active stealth, F-22 uses an Active Radar Cancellation System.
When the microwaves from radars fall on to the RAM surfaces of the F-22, they are absorbed by the radar absorbent material & channeled through the fiber optic cables which is dissipated throughout the body of the aircraft in the form of heat.
That's why F-22 has RCS of 0.0001 sqm.

The Plasma Generator energise the surrounding air of T-50 at the leading edges of the surfaces + nozzles area.
This will cause ionised air in the boundary layer to flow around the airframe.
The power of the system is high so it maybe activated when an enemy radar is detected.
The plasma cloud around the aircraft may also block transmissions from the aircraft but gaps in the plasma cloud could be created to overcome this problem.

Russia design concept of stealth planes differ from US & other European nations.
US & other European nations want physical perfection of stealth which is flat surfaces & clean-cut physical design (F-22) but aerodynamics will be sacrificed as a result.
Russia wants a perfect balance of stealth & aerodynamics, so you still see the stealth planes to display aerodynamics.
Passive & Active Plasma Technology forms the major part of stealth in T-50. :-)

It's official that with Passive Stealth the T-50 has the RCS of a tennis ball.
So with additional Plasma Active Stealth, the RCS of T-50 will be 100 times less. :-)

For your information, T-50 has already mounted the plasma generator ports. :-)

F-22's RCS of 0.0001 sqm is officially announced worldwide so don't bother to say it's higher or whatever. ;-)

T-50 has RCS of about 0.009 square meter (I estimated it as the true RCS is not official)(size of a tennis ball).
F-35 has RCS of about 0.005 square meter (size of a golf ball).
F-22 has RCS of about 0.0001 square meter (size of a marble).
T-50's RCS 0.009 is by passive stealth technology.

They're plasma ports. :-)
The most obvious one is the one mounted before the air inlet.
Take a closer look. ;-)

Now is not 2017.
F-22's AESA radar can reach more than 463km as it has peak power of 60kW.
Su-35's PESA radar has peak power of 20kW. :-)

Sukhoi is also seeking brazil as being another source of money to continue funding the project, the only catch is they have to buy Su-35s to be considered in the first buyers. A good thing for Sukhoi because Brazil has become a financial powerhouse in the world the last decade or so!!

T-50 has already installed the plasma ports. :-)

Plasma stealth exist for many years already, it's only not being publicised by Russia. ;->

I understand that you are living in last century and do not knowing, but now 6 T-50 are final testing and 60 are under construction. These aircrafts will be in service next year.

If you compare a true 5th Gen F-22 to a 4.5/4++ Gen Su-35S, of course F-22 is much more stealthy.
The F-15SE Silent Eagle is the same genre as the Su-35S as they're 4.5/4++ Gen Stealth Fighters. :-)

IRST/FLIR optics range expected to increase to 170 km by 2017. Some radars can reach, of course 400-600 km. AWAKS for example. Fighter plane record range is 400 km and it is Russian Su-35, not F-22 radar.

Su-27 was developed after F-15 but they made it far more supperior and it's smaller brothers: Su-30/35 is still very dangerous even for F-22 (working together they can detect stealth)
