Tap water is also treated with chemicals. Smart water & other vapor distilled waters are actual clean water because it is vapor. I know it takes energy to make clean water, however, it takes energy to make tap water. You have to truck a mega ton worth of chemicals to a water treatment facility & then use energy to pump water uphill.

that sounds incredibly energy intensive. energy to boil the water, plus more energy to create the plastic and ship it across the world..only to have it thrown away. why not just drink from the tap? it's more regulated than bottled water even.
