My wife wanted to start a freshwater aquarium and as a reefer I thought "let's see what Waterbox offers." They just released this line a few weeks ago. We're so excited to be getting this system in a few weeks.

Beautiful low-iron modern style aquarium, a step up from the standard glass aquariums at Petco/Petsmart. Nice to see a new product specifically for freshwater aquarists. I like the integrated lid with the light underneath, I think that is quite innovative and will help with the slime algae that tends to grow on glass aquarium covers; since it appears the lid is tinted it should also cut down on excess light flooding the room. My personal gripe is that the dimensions of the Eden 40, is 31.5" x 15.7" x 21.7", while the standard 40 gallon breeder is 36" x 18" x 16". Length and width are usually preferred over height, especially since you're not gonna keep any monsters in a 40 gallon and 21.7" high seems crazy to me for this size tank. Larger surface area helps by improving gas exchange, and since fish tend to swim horizontally rather than vertically, the chosen dimensions are a bit disappointing. If it was 36" x 17" x 17", or some similar dimension that could be called "3ft tank" would be ideal; the fact that the Eden 30 and Eden 40 are actually narrower at 15.7" compared to the Eden 20 at 17.7" is weird. Considering a standard 40 gallon breeder is ~$60 at Petco, say ~$200 for a stand, ~$35 for accompanying glass lid you're right around $300 for a standard 40 gallon setup. The Eden 40 nearly convinced me even at $650, but those dimensions are a deal breaker for me personally.

Is it possible to completely remove the pelmet and have a rimless tank? Or is there a bracing around the top? Thanks!

Just received my Eden 20 today and it would not fit my Fluval Plant 3.0 light. The platform to hold the light is way too short so you won't be able fit the the lower lid with the light. The Fluval Plant 3.0 actually has a shorter height than the average light so I'm pretty sure that this aquarium won't fit most lights out there

Will the light holder hold any size fluval aqua sky light?

Usually for aquascaping we don't need the lid to have the sleek look. Wonder if the sizes are the standard? 60cm, 90cm, 120cm etc
