Need clarification only. A Muslim is murdered violently, strangled and hung on a tree branch, supposedly making it look like suicide, the branch of the tree is to thin to support the weight of the deceased. The murderer's are non Muslim. What is their punishment. Is taking revenge permissible. Ruling MUST be in line and according to sharia law .

I have a question it is really important, so I have a relative in prison for several bad things including murder he is in gangs and does drugs but after his second time being in there he found Islam mashaallah but the thing his ops are always seeking for revenge killing each other and it’s a never ending cycle he is back in there for the same thing im asking if killing is aloud in order to defend himself or else he would be the one killed
