You two’s relationship is adorable. And very informative when it comes to dating someone with a completely different background !

I met a girl from the US here in Austria, she said one of her hobbies is rock climbing.
so as 1st date I took her rock climbing, I didn't know that Austria and the US have completely different interpretation of what rock climbing is.
for her it's going to a climbing hall, going twice up the wall and then look cute in her outfit a drink a smoothie.
as an Austrian it's, there's a mountain we climb to the top.😆😆😎

My hubby is German and now I'm realizing this is a cultural thing apparently to walk so damn much.

I didn't realize this was a German thing but this is the kind of date I prefer. Let's do an activity and get to know each other. Easier to see the real person when they're learning something or struggling a bit rather than when they're trying to impress with a nice dinner.

I'm French and I went to Philippines for a month. A certain amount of mountain's guides approached me proposing some trekking. When I asked why, our guide told us "You are French, we don't know why but you always want to go trekking. What a weird way to go on vacation!"

In the first couple weeks I was in Germany I was invited to a small “hike” for International students to meet each other and it was meant to be a picnic but after taking a train to go an hour away we realised it was a 15 kilometer journey entirely in the mountains and I don’t even work out. You couldn’t even return midway because the only way back was to finish the hike. The entire time I wanted to die it was so tiring and a couple of us got injured too. A little heads up would have been nice :’)

Edit- I’m glad I’m making many people feel good about themselves haha

The thing about getting of giving a heads up beforehand is that to the organisers, this was a short 2 hour hike and thus not difficult enough to give warnings about and so they didn’t even bother telling us where, how long it would be and the distance we were going to hike. Ultimately that hike was 6 hours long because of the rocky terrain (and I hibernated for the next couple days lol)

A little more context; where I come from, there simply isn’t a hiking culture and to top that off I have a desk job. Additionally, the reason I don’t work out and wasn’t too physically active growing up is because I have a tumor that we cannot remove and have had since I was 3. So even if my story may sound silly, I was really truly at my limit XD

This woman should be a writer for TV or work in TV. She's got talent.

Being a great story teller is a master craft & a valuable gift. You know how to connect with people & draw us in. Build interest, curiosity & then captivate the audience with your unique style of charisma. Referencing your worldly experiences, you create intriguing mini drama's of cross cultural contrasts or misunderstandings. You skillfully twist the roles to express genius comedy situations! You exaggerate emotions & emphasize details to genuinely entertain viewers! You're a bright shining star & we adore you! Thank you for sharing your talent to brighten our day with priceless laughter!

Oh my God.. It's so true about the hiking part !!!😂 🤣 😆 Your video brings me a memory back from 17 years ago. I came & moved to Germany due to marriage. Soon after arriving, my husband took me to a tour, which he called "ein klein Bergwandern". We even spent a night before in a hotel near Schliersee.

And I, a totally non sport-exercise type of indonesian girl who's spent 12 years working in Batam & Singapore before, ended up in my first 10 hours hiking tour towards Brecherspitz (1683m). I remember how I had to crawl like a scared baby in one of its rocky routes. The next day, I could barely walk, it felt like have been beaten from head to toe. And I couldn't believe the fact that's happened literally during our honeymoon phase. Indeed Germans are really romantic in a pragmatic way 😂 😆 🤣

I'm German and somehow these "German stereotype" related videos are on my feed all the time and the more I watch them the more I think... Am I that stereotypical?!

like. My bf and I went on a 20km "walk" on our first date and half way through that man whipped out a slackline. And it wasn't even planned that way. We just started walking and didn't stop lol non-Germans beware, bring comfy shoes I guess!

I would love to go on any of these dates 😍 you get to know the person a lot better that way, because your not stuck on a two table setting having to make up topics on the spot, but rather talk about the adventure your on, the surroundings, the views, sharing any related stories, getting a glimpse of the other person's personality in how they act and talk etc. Also adventures together are fun! And I've read a study once that it's easier to fall in love with someone when a little adrenaline and dopamine is involved! Since german aren't particularly good flirters, these things help a lot 😉

Describes perfectly why my German friend is always up for a hike or an adventure.

Long hikes through the fields and woodlands were our family trips. I grew up in a family that had to live on a small budget so we'd enjoy our family time together this way. It carried on into teenage years where I'd take my dog and sometimes sisters with me for very long walks (5 hours were possible) through our villages fields. It's easy to just walk from town to town as pathways are almost everywhere and accessible. Sometimes after school I'd walk home since my train (verkackte DB) would be canceled for a few hours. The walk would've been about 6, 9km which was about an hour and 20 minutes. I'd just listen to music on the way 🎧🎶 Even now that my dog can no longer accompany me I still go into the forest with my mom, last time we went mushroom hunting and made some nice soup. 😋

First date with my first girlfriend we walked around for probably 5 hours, just talking and chatting until we ended up sitting on a bench for 30 minutes before walking back for 5 hours. I think fresh air and walking clears your head and makes you more attentive. It was her idea too and I had nothing against it. Loved it and would probably do it just like that again.

Going alone with strangers in the woods, or remote lakes, is the best way to build strong emotions:
"Is he the one, or the one who'll kill me?! iiii !!!"
