What if someone you loved became something else? #WolfManMovie only in theaters January 17.

---
From Blumhouse and visionary writer-director Leigh Whannell, the creators of the chilling modern monster tale The Invisible Man, comes a terrifying new lupine nightmare: Wolf Man.

Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (Poor Things, It Comes at Night) stars as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte (Emmy winner Julia Garner; Ozark, Inventing Anna), fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth; Hullraisers, Coma).

But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger without.

The film co-stars Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama) and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man).

Wolf Man is directed by Whannell, whose previous films with Blumhouse include The Invisible Man, Upgrade and Insidious: Chapter 3. The screenplay is written by Leigh Whannell & Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money).

The film is produced by Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum and is executive produced by Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Leigh Whannell. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

Anybody else at the beginning of the trailer think it was a dad and two daughters, I was like oh until she said my husband 🤦‍♂️

Nothing will beat the design of the 2010 Wolfman. Say what you will about that movie but they nailed how the Wolfman SHOULD look.

I loved 'The Invisible Man' and especially 'Upgrade' on rewatch so will definitely see what Whannell has to offer here. Rick Baker's design for 'The Wolfman' is 100% still the gold standard.

They showed the design of the Wolfman at a comic con once and while I'm not a fan of the design itself, shots like those at 1:30 and infected being unable to understand human language is rather brilliant!

I thought it was the mom that fell out and it was the father and the two children left. Got whiplash when she referred to him as her husband. 😂😂😂

I have full belief in Leigh Whannell. I loved Upgrade and The Invisible Man. And I Christopher Abbott. I think this movie is going to look fantastic and it’s going to be a gut punch.

How am I supposed to know what I’m watching without the 3 second “X trailer starts now” trailer?!

I liked how they showed from his perspective, like when he couldn’t understand her and how he saw where she was standing. It made it more believable.

Can’t wait for the little girl to say “what are you, some kind of wolf man?”

Her husband? She looks like a young teenager.

Well I’m positive the Wolfman design that was shown isn’t the final form. I’d assume they’re going to make his transformation be slower and worsening as the film goes on

Ooh I’m getting very much The Fly vibes, at least thematically. I totally dig the “slowly losing a loved one to an illness/ailment” approach. It elevates the material for sure.

The Wolfman (2010), dog soldiers, an American werewolf in London, Ginger Snaps, and the Silver Bullet. All of them great werewolf movies of all time. Aching to see this one.

Dog Soldiers is still my favorite werewolf movie.

Leigh Whannell went back to the concept of the name with his Invisible Man and I think it's the same here. It doesn't look like the usual Werewolf because it isn't. It's a Wolf Man, a hybrid between the two. I don't know if he'll ever be back to his human form or if the full moon and silver bullet stuff will even be mentioned. It gives me huge Cronenberg's The Fly vibes and knowing that I actually dig the "hobo-esque" design, like what happened if men evoluted from wolves. Looking forward to this one.
