Don't see why people are hating on tom cruise, yeah he is a bit shorter than the character but height is characteristic not the character, tom displays jack's personality, his wit and his intelligence, height is but a minor error is tom cruise's efficiency for the role, but tom is the best actor around, he can nail any role coming his way.

Tom Cruise is just fine for this role. He doesn't have the size, but from the trailer at least, he appears to have a good understanding of the character. I am also glad Cruise is the actor here because he insists on doing his own stunts and I think that will lend a lot of credibility to the film.

Yeah, it's a good scene, one that only Cruise could've pulled off. In one of the books ("Gone Tomorrow" I think) Reacher clearly states that "Crowds are bad. I can't hide in crowds, I stand too much out"

- I still want to see the movie, though...

Whenever you are taking movies of the same style, very similar: action, chases, fights, some humor, a girl, a boy who will be the hero ... .
But just what that look, are usually successful. And no wonder, a movie does not have to be a "masterpiece" to entertain the crowd. Certainly I shall see when I can, sure entertaining afternoon.

I am Jack Reacher's fan, but with all due respect to Tom Cruise, Lee Child made so much money, that he just wants more - as most of the "rich" people I know. Child sold out to Hollywood. (Can you see Reacher jumping up and down on Oprah's show?)

And using Reacher's line, to go to see this movie would be like "pissing on my mother's
grave!" Jack Reacher is an ICON of contemporary thrillers and I'll be happy just to read
and reread the books and keep him in my mind as I can see him.
