Fast food wars: Could lower menu prices be here to stay?

McDonald’s is now extending its popular $5 value meal through August after fast food wars waged a battle to win back customers all summer long. NBC’s Christine Romans reports for TODAY on how popular fast casual dining restaurants are serving up savings.

In many markets, there are a very few competitors, products/services are complicated, and pricing is deliberately obfuscated.
