I was saving 70% take home income when I was earning rm5k a month, why need a car when the monthly pass for unlimited trains and buses only costs RM50 a month? Insurance is not a necessity if company has healthcare benefits. You don't need to eat rm15-rm20 meal. There are still rm7-rm11 meals in KL, drink water in office, don't need to order drinks.

If possible, don't own a car. Repairs, tyre replacement, insurance, road tax, license renewal, fuel, toll and parking fees put together are wealth killers.

When we traveled back to Malaysia for the holidays, my wife (born in PJ) met up with her girlfriends. They went out shopping at a mall. My wife looked at the prices and thought she saw bargins. Her friends told her she was looking at the prices from the standpoint of someone living in the States and not a local. I still think it is difficult for the average person in Malaysia to make ends meet. Appreciate the vlog.

500g of chicken cost us around RM9, which you can cook for 5 to 6 meals.

Loan is Debt but society promotes, encourages loans as if it must be done even if you have cash, as if it's a smart leverage

Solution: be stingy and only eat/buy what you really need. Having less money doesnt mean you cant enjoy life but you need to stop wastage e.g. electricity, food, water, driving like an idiot consumes more oil, etc...
