Lesbian novels were the only place lesbian sex was discussed ‘back in the day’ and also provided the only education. Bless those trailblazers. 💕

i remember finding out about the P going into the V and i was like, there is NO WAY THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE TRUE. flash forward and now i'm a lesbian and i'm still not sure that's the way it really works and i really don't care to know lol

My parents told me “Sex is beautiful when you’re married and ugly when you’re not”. That’s it. That was my “sex talk” 😭

Also I get annoyed when people say lesbians don't scissor. Just because most lesbians don't scissor, doesn't mean none of them do.

"The nineties were like... 40 years ago" that is the TRUTH. I always say I'm 50 years old and no one gets it. I'm glad I'm not the only one !!

My catholic school had a video program called I’m God’s Image……. So you can imagine how useful that was.

I went to public school in Germany where sex ed is on the schedule in 3rd, 6th and 9th grade. We learned about everything that happens during puberty and pregnancy, periods (very specifically with all the hormones, receptors and stuff), STDs, all the methods to not get pregnant (even pros and cons of terminal and temporary sterilisation) and consent, but the non-hetero part was limited to: "there are other sexualities, we are not going to talk about them, but whatever you do; just stay save." So I guess that's better than nothing.

We had Dr. Ruth here in the US back then (I'm in the same age category as you two). We've got alot more info floating around now than we used to but, as a nurse, I really worry about the misinformation mixed in with it. We need more people willing to be comfortably frank like you guys!

Me and my friend passed notes after school where she told me sex was when a boy peed in a girl...

I went to a Catholic school in seventh grade, which is the usual grade students get to learn about puberty, sex, pregnancy……. For some reason the boys and girls weren’t separated and we were all stuffed in a classroom together and our “guest” teacher was a male army lieutenant. It was horrific. My parents moved me to another school the following year. That was eighth grade and so luckily the science subject that year was earth science! I really wish that educators could try to not make puberty sound like such an ugly process and I wish that adults in general could stop acting like sex is this unfortunate and embarrassing thing that happens to people. Take away the taboo and the embarrassment of quite simply put, loving someone and being in love with love with someone romantically, emotionally and sexually. I didn’t have one single adult when I was growing up say it was okay to be in love. It was a joke. They teased younger persons for having crushes. Being in love was a huge embarrassment worthy of constant teasing to remind you that you are not worthy of your crush’s affection. I think if we could stop shaming people like this, then maybe we could have an honest talk about these subjects. Then maybe young people would not be wandering around with tons of questions but knowing that no one’s going to answer.

No, that old lady was on US tv too. I remember seeing it in the middle of the night when I was younger and someone called in because their leg would shake when they came. She told them they were fine and it just felt good and their reaction was normal. I thought that old lady was a badass. I wanted to be like her when I grew up. She gave no clucks. Now I'm grown and I still want to be like her. Don't tell my mom.

Cool thing!
I am a librarian, and you can borrow some interesting LGBT books from my library. Also those related to sex.
😉
All you have to do is want it.
(pun intended)
😂
And it is important to me, that LGBT-themed books (novels and popular science) are available. Libraries borrow for free - we fight the exclusion of the poor. It is also my private mission in the fight against the terrible campaign against the community in my country. Unfortunately, one of the most homophobic in Europe - Poland...

We watched the “you’re body is changing” video in the fourth grade. By 9th I remember my high school’s football coach at the time giving us a very brief lesson on sex ed during P.E. and It was hilarious. Then there was the “talk” with my mom which gave me no real information. It was more of the you’re body is changing talk then, you have a kid. How the kid gets here was left out 🤣🤣

NGL should have just titled this "let's ramble about public sex education, have an ad that MIGHT give you the explanation, and then leave."
