this scene never fails to make me tear up the way Chandler was such an amazing actor at such a young age, i felt that “DAD” omg brb crying

What really sells it for me is at 1:19 where Rick gestures at his family, but the building emotion robs him of words. Andrew Lincoln does such a damned fine job here - a solid scene all around.

My son used to scream “Dad!” like that and come running, it’s the best thing I’ve ever experienced. Great scene.

This scene sealed it for me. At that point I knew it was something special and loved the show since.

Lots of people always say Shane wasn't happy to see Rick. I say they are only half right. Rick was Shane's best friend, his partner as a Sheriffs deputy. They grew up together and went to hell and back for each other. Shane was happy Rick was still alive, because it meant his best friend was back, but that also put guilt in his mind for sleeping with Lori, and he had also fallen in love with her because he had thought Rick was dead. There was gunfire and walkers and soldiers killing people, honestly he did the best he could, if he hadn't put the gurney there walkers would have come in and eaten Rick. If Lori hadn't gotten it in Shane's head that the baby might be his, the fight he and Rick had might have been the thing to fix their friendship. I don't know, just my opinion.

I honestly can't stop looking at Andrea's face when she saw Carl reunited with his dad at 1:30

Sarah Wayne Callie’s performance is super underrated in this scene, you can see her initial shock that he’s alive, then she gets very emotional and happy, then as soon as you see her look at Shane she is filled with intense guilt and immediately starts sobbing in sadness because of what she did while also hugging him close because he is her love and she feels sorry. All in a span of seconds. Really good job here.

The acting in this scene is great. You can see how happy Shane is, but how bummed out he is at the same time.

I love how Andrew fell on his knees when he hugged Chandler, a very real reaction any parent would have after finding their family by sheer luck out of all that confusion and mess

The moment that really sells this for me is Rick's involuntary reaching out with his hand at 1:20.
