Security Breach is an unsolvable mess of a game, which is why many of us love it. The lore in here is purposefully unfinished, needing more and future games to fully be able to solve. But with what we've had now, She's Always Nervous has made a pretty great theory on what might actually be happening here, so I wanted to touch on it and add some of my thoughts. AND YES I WILL MAKE MY OWN THEORIES SOON I PROMISE

Here’s an interesting thought: Recharge stations could use remnant rather than electricity. This could explain how Gregory isn’t electrocuted whenever going into a recharge station

Cassie also makes a comment on the "weird battery acid" that is leaking out of the charge stations in Ruin and how she doesn't want to get near it. And that weird battery acid sure does look like a glowy liquid metal, just like remnant. I could totally see the charging station being the way they "recharge" on remnant.

**Edit** Also, completely off the wall thought, but this could be why Sun and Moon don't seem to recharge at all and seem ridiculously human-like. If the dream spheres are just another way to farm remnant, I assume they would have a constant power supply as a side effect. But that only works if all of Tales is canon.

You know it also explains how the pizzaplex in Ruin is so messed up especially if it takes place not long after SB. Without the remnant the place is either falling apart or reverting to how it would be without the remnant making it look nice

The Tangle hunting that remnant would also explain why the Pizza Plex collapses and is almost completly destroyed. Because the Tangle is digging through the foundation or even the entire building to get all the remnant it can get. When Cassy shows up it got all it wanted and leaves

Given the alternate SB ending with Freddy powered by a car battery, it goes to show that electricity works fine, it’s just more expensive to use

my personal alternative theory still is that Glamrock Freddy is possessed by The Mimic. it would explain:
1. how Mimic knows Gregory
2. how Mimic got Gregory's voice (remember: in RUIN, Mimic uses the exact introduction line Gregory gives G-Freddy at the beginning of Security Breach: "I-I'm... Gregory.")
3. how Mimic got G-Freddy's voice
4. why Freddy gets more and more dirty through Security Breach (Mimic calls him back to do his digging works)
5. why Freddy encourages Gregory to go down to the Fazbear Pizzaria ruins (instead of talking it out off Gregory's head): Mimic wants to be freed by Gregory and uses Freddy as trustee.
6. how Mimic found out that Cassie is Gregory's best friend.
don't forget yall: Mimic is an AI not restrained to his bugly endoskeleton in the underground rooms. as an AI, Mimic can be pretty much anywhere at any time. and throughout the novel series, it's explicitly described how Mimic infiltrated the whole Pizzaplex and its servers and animatronics.

Rye, you know what would be really cool? a video describing and explaining how Mimic-1, Glitchtrap and Helpi are bitching over the Pizzaplex, each one aggressively trying to win rulership. because I firmly believe that's exactly what's happening throughout the whole novel series and in Security Breach.

Loving your addition to Nervous' theory. Expanding the theory to explain Vanny's role was genius. The idea that Vanny might be be essentially there to cover up disappearances within the pizzaplex was chilling but very cool.

For some reason this reminds me a lot of the plot in Pixar's Monsters Inc. from 2001. You know, you got the regular workers just working day to day when there's a secret much darker plot beneath it all about kidnapping children and using a machine to harvest energy from them with a villain (Randal) who could take the blame for all of it while the higher-ups (Waternoose) will allow this to happen but pin the blame on what they believe is their scapegoat if things go wrong. I dunno, just seems interesting how similar it is

I had actually thought of the idea of the Glamrocks having remnant in them a while ago, but kind of just let it go when all the stuff with Mimic1 came along

This could also explain why Burntrap has this purple smoke/fog exiting his charging pod, it could be aerosolized remnant or even agony being pumped into Burntrap to figuratively bring William back
