I've never experienced this before in my 16 years of gardening and I am SO BUMMED. On a positive note, I was still able to harvest a lot of great produce today! Join me as I harvest what's ripe, deal with the loss, do some garden maintenance, and plant some fall crops.

I've had that happen with onions a few times. It's true that they won't store long, but you can slice them up and dry them in the dehydrator. The dried onions are great in soups. Meanwhile, If you have another area, maybe in a flower garden, I suggest you plant some walking onions. Also leeks. They're the first onions to be ready in spring, when the other ones are already eaten up or no longer storable.

I prefer long gardening videos as well. I can just put one on and relax, not have to worry about what I want to watch next!

I went to the Florida weave method of trellising my tomatoes. Made my life much easier.

The bolting onions are really not that scary at all. In my country we don't really care if they bolt, we just braid them shortly after they have bolted and have given them some time to dry out, and they store just fine. Don't worry about it so much, they will store just fine.

When my onion starts bolted last year, I added the buds to our salads! One onion got away from me and fully bloomed - the flowers were pretty and tasty in our salads too! I sliced up the stems, dehydrated them and ground the up for a mild onion powder. My version of when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!😅

Absolutely agree with the refrigerator pickles. Just tasted my first pickle, needs another day or so. Mom used to put poultry netting close to each side of the peas and beans to keep the plants more upright. I stick with pole beans, myself...being in my 60s it's just so much easier on the knees! I planted radishes & lettuce as my final crop for the season.

I have really been struggling with blight in my tomatoes this year, too. 😢 It’s my first time dealing with disease.

I have had trouble getting my onions to cure the last couple of years. I chopped mine and threw them in freeze dryer. Works great 👍

Freeze dry them. It works so so good. They lasted us forever like that. I have my freeze dryer running full force right now.

Reading the time complaint comment like 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️
Please dont take that to heart, if they watch that many people, they can better manage their own time watching all 50 of their videos.
I love watching, learning, and laughing with you. I've learned a lot from you, so just keep doing what you're doing 😊

With the onions
Chop and freeze the bulbs, and turn the leaves into onion-top pesto ❤ yum 🤤

I enjoyed this video, it's always encouraging and inspiring to see others and their gardens. Their processes, successes, failures.

Not really a failure...those onions were still nice! Hope you get more barefoot weather...only way to garden :) Take care!!
