2018 Hyundai Sonata Review: First Impressions

Hyundai's revised mid-size sedan was unveiled in Seoul in March, but the 2018 Sonata made its U.S. debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. For 2018, the sedan gets tweaked styling, a new eight-speed automatic transmission and a revised control panel. Watch the video for more.

Let the right people at Hyundai know that the Infinity radios' treble control in ALL 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0Ts DO NOT WORK! The treble controls slider goes from -10 to +10, but there is no change in the high frequency sound, like there should be! I tried the new cars in dealers, and they ALL DO NOT WORK AS THEY SHOULD! The bass and midrange controls work as they should, even though I would prefer the frequency of the midrange control to be higher in frequency, around 3kHz! It is too low in frequency now to do any good! Anyway, the treble control should work! Hyundai and Infinity need to fix this now and produce an update for the radio!

I was watching a previous video, and the reporter said that only dual exhaust pipes will be offered on the 2.0 T models... Um, This is limited model with only one? I have a 2016 limited, and it has two dual exhausts.

Why are those spoke wheels different from Korean domestic market cars?
Its so much sharper looking than these at the show! I'm still hopeful!

Looks a lot like the Elantra, the front end, especially the grille, and also the taillights. Also the dashboard looks like the Elantra.

I know I am getting off the topic here, I gotta say one thing, I like the dashboard in the 2011-2016 Elantras much better, had a cool modern look to it. I wish that Hyundai would have utilized the look of that dashboard for this new Sonata.

This dashboard looks like it's just a ho-hum bland afterthought. I guess that Hyundai decided to tame things down after the 2011-2016 Elantra design, and then take those same lines and use them for the Sonata. But I will say that i think the exterior of this redesigned Sonata look great.

Very low seating and cheap suspension on a otherwise amazingly improved and tech packed vehicle.
